Money Wants To Flow To You… is a post from: Emma Tiebens | The Relational Marketer

For this past week however, I felt a sense of angst about a few things that no matter what I DO or choose to BE, it lingered for a while though it eventually shifted.  There was a heavy feeling on my chest and a stirring in my stomach that I simply couldn’t whisk away.  Many times in the past, this feeling has been a launch pad for bigger and greater things and at times, they are simply reminders of something that requires attention.

Yesterday’s event about the Boston Marathon Explosion has also left me feeling overwhelmed, sad, angry, concerned, disheartened… I feel so many different emotions all at once and they are not necessarily the most positive ones either.  I think of the people who have been directly and indirectly affected by this heinous act and I continue to send them love, prayers and positive intentions.  I have wonderful memories of Boston as a young Flight Attendant many years ago.  I will always have a special place in my heart for Faneuil Hall, Filene’s Basement, Newbury Street, Boston Commons Park, the Cheers Pub and Boston Park Plaza Hotel to name a few.

I figured, if I was feeling this way, some of my family, friends, subscribers, clients and social media circle must be feeling something similar.

I am getting ready to leave for a huge event in Baltimore, MD tomorrow and I am tying up loose ends right now but I awoke this morning with a sense of ambivalence.  The feeling was quite intense, palpable  and disconcerting that the thought of canceling my trip crossed my mind.

I did what I would normally do, when I feel as though I’m in a quandary – I chose to BE STILL and started to B-R-E-A-T-H-E…

Do you ever feel OVERSTIMULATED at times – so much so that sounds, visuals and just the presence of people around you makes you so hypersensitive that you
just want to crawl into a hole or lock yourself up in a room?

I know I do and if you’re reading this, chances are that you do to.

And if you or you know of someone who is going through this, rest assured that there is nothing wrong with you or them.  In fact, the good news about this is that most of the time, it is temporary and it is indeed possible that this is a pivotal moment signifying an upcoming event that will raise your bar.

In the book “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles, he talked about “Living A Certain Way”.  This is a strategy that I live by and has helped me “quantum leap” in so many ways.  I will be sharing more about this in the next few weeks, in preparation for my live event on June 15, called “Hard Sell To Heart Sell”.

For now, I would love to leave you with this golden reminder and my proven strategies that has enabled me to get past the overwhelm as quickly as possible.

When you’re feeling overwhelmed to a point of retreating, it simply means that you have not been specific on how you want your perfect live to be.  Sometimes it’s because you don’t believe it’s attainable or you just don’t know where to start and how to even conjure up ideas on how it’s possible for you do desire and live your perfect life.

I have already taken some time in visualizing and writing down my 15-page “Living A Certain Way” document. I wrote my first draft 2 years ago and it’s a live document which continue to evolve.

When I am feeling a state of overwhelm, distraction and over-stimulation I already understand that it’s the Spirit’s way of reminding me that I am veering away from the truth about who I really am and the absolute power that make up who I truly am.  During those moments, I tend to forget that within me – within us -  lies the very power that created the universe!

So as you experience what I just described in the beginning of this article, I’m sharing with you exactly what I do and I trust that you will find inspiration from this too:

1)  Give yourself some grace that something is quite out of place.  You don’t necessarily need to diffuse it as something scary or will invite you to spiral into that forbidden place of depression.  Acknowledge it for what it is but don’t get too caught up with it that you start inviting more negative thoughts into it. Just say something like: “Okay, I am having one of those rare times that I am not feeling my best and that’s okay, because this is temporary and it’s telling me something that I am probably resisting that needs to be addressed.  I will deal with this as soon as I can, but for now, I am choosing to focus on what is working.”

2) Go ahead, crawl into the hole – in my case, I lay down on the couch or crawl in bed – yes, even in the middle of the day, lay still and take deep slow breaths.   Or go take a nap if you feel like it! ( If you’re at the office you can go to your rest area during a break and for work at home Parentpreneurs, just don’t’ forget to set the timer if you have to pick up your children from school!

3) As you start breathing in and breathing out, control your breathing by taking really deep slow breaths and doing long extended exhales.  As you do breathe, focus on things that you’re able to appreciate now and focus on the powerful energy that created  you – God and the universal force  that is a huge part of you.  In the book “The Science of Getting Rich” it’s referred to as the “Formless Substance” -  Focus on the  things you can appreciate NOW and not just those you would like to appreciate.

4) When thoughts that are sad, worrying and depressing present themselves, continue breathing and do your best to find something to appreciate and focus on that, even if it’s as simple as how great the sheets feel on your skin, how wonderful it is to be able to find time to relax and breathe, how you appreciate those who truly love you, the gifts you do have, your talents, your social media friends who empower and encourage, the yummy lunch you had.

5) As you begin to feel good, continue to bring in more good thoughts you can appreciate. From that state, you can now bring it your visual of your ideal day, your ideal work, your ideal clients, your ideal home, your ideal relationships – your idea life!

6)Within 10-15 minutes will notice that your feeling will be much different from when you started the process. From that feeling good place you will have better ideas present themselves to you.  Listen to those ideas, write them down and as you focus on those ideas, more positive thoughts and ideas will come and act upon them.  Whether the idea is to just write on your journal or post a positive insight in social media or call a friend who comes to mind.

7) Celebrate the powerful experience you just gave yourself! Now, you know that next time you experience an overwhelming feeling does come, you already know what it takes to pivot and shift your way out of it.

Finding Peace When Feeling Overwhelmed is a post from: Emma Tiebens | The Relational Marketer

Do you ever feel like your work environment gets stale and you need to find another inspired and quiet place?  Well, for me, aside from our local library or my formal dining room and living room downstairs, or the private club I am a member of, sometimes just staying in bed with the intention of really focusing on that inspired action mode, gets the job done!

I know, some of my friends say “never bring work into the bedroom” and I totally agree with that. There is a time and place for everything! It’s just that in those very rare occasions when you make an exception, you tend to value the space and rarity of the opportunity that you tend to be more productive.  There have been times when I was absolutely inspired to create a program or an information product that I would purposely stay at a hotel for 2-3 days to get things done that would have normally taken me months to create!

True inspired and creative moments are rare and must be valued and cherished.  I make it a point to schedule them on my calendar and it’s something I look forward to.  If you haven’t tried it, I suggest you do.  You can do it for as little as 2 hours or the entire day if you choose!  I guarantee you, this will be time well spent.  Just let your family members know before hand and let them know what you’re doing.  They will be inspired by your commitment to taking inspired action.

Our son Garrett knows when I’m working from my bed… my 3-wick candle is lit up and the room is very peaceful and fragrant. Most of the time, he even crawls up next to me with his book and he reads until he falls asleep for a nap.  I then get to look at his sleeping face from time to time and it adds to my inspiration.  It’s one of life’s most precious moments.

I would LOVE for you to try this and let me know how much you get done.  It might get uncomfortable in the beginning and you might be tempted to take a nap in between.  That’s okay… just know that when you wake up, you’ll feel refreshed and inspired.

Find Your Creative Space… is a post from: Emma Tiebens | The Relational Marketer

For the past 3 years, I have been diligently immersed in growing my business.  I practically wore all the “hats” – I was my own Research and Development Team, PR Team, Marketing Team, Operations Team and Customer Service Team.  To keep me sane, I read tons of books on technology, marketing, mindset, leadership and personal and spiritual development; invested in Mentors and  attended countless of seminars, conferences and workshops and have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars.

While everything that I learned was priceless and are responsible for who I have become, I must say that it was a very long and arduous process where many, many times, I really felt like GIVING-UP, but these have kept me going:

1)  My desire to be a role model for our son.

2) The pursuit that I was called for something more — for a greater purpose.

3) My quest for financial freedom to live a life of choices and abundance.

4) My belief that “my message matters”.

5) To help Parentpreneurs’ and Solopreneurs families to value and respect each other so they can stay together.

6) Experiencing how it is to have Impact and Influence in my life.

7) Leave a legacy of significance and relevance.

Consistently provide INSPIRATION, MOTIVATION and HOPE to those who seek them.

9) Surround myself with an incredible “Circle of Influence” of people who are heart centered and have a common goal to better their lives and other people’s lives.

10) To continue to overcome self-limiting doubts and fears and be the best version of myself as my tribute to God whose Spirit lives within me.

While my reasons are all consequential and relevant, I realized that I have forgotten this critical component…

I MUST FEEL GOOD FIRST and know how to FEEL GOOD NOW.

I have started to realize that I have been working so diligently and so seriously that I have neglected a huge part of me — I have neglected my spirit – the part of me which truly gives me unadulterated JOY;  that part of me which is the SEAT OF TRUTH and the place where INSPIRATION and CREATIVITY flows.

When I pray and meditate everyday I seek wisdom and the feeling of oneness with the veritable force which created the universe which lie deep within us.  Then, as I go about my day, I tend to lose sight of that and I forget who I truly am.

I am now learning that my priority is TO FEEL GOOD FIRST, because when I come from that place, my “Inspired Action” or “Inspired To-Do” List comes from a place of ease and effortlessness and not from lack or desperation of getting things done from a desired outcome.

I have done the “doing of it” and will continue to do so but this time, I will know to listen to me first, rather than from pleasing others.

There’s a gigantic lesson here that is unfolding as we speak and will be sharing that more as they are revealed…

I remain in awe of women! Not because I am a woman, but because I have been in the company of so many of you who are gentle, romanticists, thinkers, nurturers, lovers, care takers, yet when it comes to our dreams, families, commitment and relationships, we are steadfast action takers and courageous movement makers who are ready to fight for what’s worth fighting for.

So if you’re a woman who is reading this (and of course the men who love, honor and support us), here’s a great big VIRTUAL HUG for you and this beautiful reminder:

Happy International Women’s Day is a post from: Emma Tiebens | The Relational Marketer

If you have ever sat on your desk and have started at the computer screen and was drawn to doing things other than what’s on your “to-do” list, you might be experiencing a “Stale Environment Syndrome”. This is where no matter what you try to do, you’re unable to get “in the zone” and is experiencing difficulty in staying focused and productive.

Why do I know this? I have experienced this many, many times.  On my office desk, I maintain an inspired corner where I normally put fresh flowers, light candles or aroma simmers as a firm reminder that “It’s time to get to work and get serious.”  I also turn on my favorite Himalayan salt lamp because the glow helps me focus so much more.

If you’re a business owner who works from home, perhaps an author, speaker, coach, expert, entrepreneur who is challenged by staying focused and productive at home, changing your environment by choosing different rooms throughout your home, is one of the strategies I help my clients with which helps them produce results!

Here’s a short impromptu video I created as I started my day from my dining room… No, I didn’t put make up on, nor styled my hair… I have a message to share right this very moment and I wasn’t going to wait until I put my make-up on…   There is power in spontaneity and when you learn to just be okay with who you are and appreciate and find inspiration in the present moment, you will be surprised at how much you are able to accomplish in such a short time!

How To Get Productive NOW is a post from: Emma Tiebens | The Relational Marketer

Twenty four years ago, with one suit case in tow, I found myself
at the Manila International Airport, (now Ninoy Aquino International Airport) -
surrounded by my family, saying our good-byes was quite a scene.
I remember vividly the never ending hugs, uncontrollable tears and repeated
advice and farewell words from everyone.

.
My sense of excitement was mixed with fear and uncertainty because:

- This was only the 2nd time I would be on an airplane and the thought of a
16 hour flight was absolutely scary!.
- I couldn’t speak English fluently.
- I had a difficulty understanding spoken English.
- I was VERY timid and shy.
- I didn’t have a lot of money with me.
- I only knew 2 families in the entire United States.
- I didn’t quite know what to expect as I have NEVER been to the US
prior to this trip.
- I was leaving EVERYTHING – family and friends – behind and not
sure when I’ll see them all again.

I remember while I was on the Immigration Line, 2 people said to me:
“Wow, you really don’t want to leave, do you?  You were crying so
loudly back there, I thought you were going to pass out!”

Looking back, what has kept me going was the vision that I believed
with all my heart that I WAS CALLED FOR SOMETHING SO MUCH MORE.
I was simply saying “Yes” to opportunities that presented themselves to me.
It was never my dream to come to the US.  My dream then was simply to
do something so drastic that would make the greatest impact in my family’s
life.

Having been born to a very middle class family, I have always been
fascinated with the wealthy – people who enjoy a lifestyle that not
many people are able to enjoy – who always look like they’re having the
time of their lives and have this very important thing:  CHOICES.

I thought to myself – “When I reach the US, I am going to work very, very
hard, save my money, learn as much as I can about the culture and
finally BE somebody and by being somebody, I would also honor and help
out my family.”  And when I would feel hesitant about my trip, what has always
managed to get me inspired was the thought of starting something now and
if it doesn’t work out, I was young enough to pick up the pieces and start
all over again.

Needless to say, the first few years I spent as an immigrant wasn’t all
that I thought it was going to be.  I had to:

- Learn to cross the street, as in the Philippines, we were used to ”
dodging” the cars when crossing the street.
- Taught myself to cook, enjoy and appreciate American food.
- Watch the news and many TV Shows and movies to understand more about
how American’s speak.
and it was nearly impossible to learn them all!
- Watch the Home Shopping Network to educate myself with more specific words,
products and innovation.
- Joined the local library so I can have access to more books.
- Walk through the malls to acquaint myself with how American’s dress up
and accessorize.
- Get myself familiar with an American home, especially the many gadgets in the kitchen!
- Learn to use a washer and dryer for clothes and a dishwasher for dishes!
- Force and train myself to speak the language, and reduce my accent as
much as possible.  I was tired of hearing people telling me to repeat myself
when they didn’t understand what I said.
- Train myself to not convert dollars into pesos when I would go
to the grocery because I probably wouldn’t have bought anything and starved!

It’s fascinating to remember how I saw things so differently with excitement
and awe.  Today, I still wake up with excitement and awe as I savor my “evolution”.

Twenty four years ago, my desire was simply to have a stable job, make
enough money to pay my bills and send some to my family in the Philippines.
Now, having learned to harness the power of these 12 emotions, I have evolved into
someone I never ever dreamed about, and the best part is my ability to
now impact hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives, through the choices
I have made.

Think, Feel, Act and Grow Rich is a post from: Emma Tiebens | The Relational Marketer

Basically, a male or female guest is featured everyday and he/she will choose from 3 people from the opposite sex, to go out with on a first date. The guest is interviewed live by Chuck and the 3 potential dates are interviewed on video. The audience then gets to pick who they think is the best date for the guest, based on their introduction on how the candidates spoke about and represent themselves on their video. They don’t immediately tell the guest who they picked. For the next day’s episode, Chuck interviews the same guest who will then share who he/she picked from the 3 candidates and how their date went. While the guest sits on a love seat next to Chuck on screen, the candidate chosen now interacts with them via a video screen on the top left corner of the screen.

It’s so exciting when there is a “Love Connection” which means that the guest and the candidate ended up to be a great match! However, it’s quite ridiculous when there is no Love Connection because it ends up to be a war with words. It becomes a “He Said, She Said” and it becomes a blame game of what he should have done and what she should have been. In the end, Chuck asks the audience who they have voted on, and if it’s a different candidate, the guest is asked whether he/she wants to go out with him. Sometimes the guest says yes and at times, he/she has had enough.

As entrepreneurs, this connection process is similar to how our clients choose us. No, we don’t have a Chuck Woolery to facilitate the connection, nor an audience to help vote for us, but essentially, a client has specific needs and wants that they are looking to fill and solve. Unlike the show where there are only 3 candidates to choose from, your prospective clients have way more to choose from.

The question is, how are you standing out from the rest of entrepreneurs offering the same services?

After watching quite a few episodes of “Love Connection”, I have acquired a good sense of who the guest and the audience will choose, based on:

1) What the guest says he or she is looking for in a mate.
2) What each of the 3 candidates are willing to “give”, how confident they are about themselves without being arrogant and more importantly, how they speak the language of “romance”.

It is so interesting to note that the ones that normally get chosen shared these “7 Common Traits for a Love Connection”:

1) They are presentable and have a sense of style.
2) They have a solution to what the guest is looking for.
3) They talk about their desire to get to know the person instead of it being all about them.
4) They have a certain calm demeanor that’s not pushy or needy.
5) They are warm, friendly and they smile a lot.
6) They have an air of trustworthiness.
7) They are eloquent and are able to express themselves with the right words.

Connecting with your ideal client is akin to a “Love Connection”. You must be able to ATTRACT your ideal clients, CONNECT at the heart and TRANSFORM yourself into their TRUSTED AUTHORITY.

When you practice these “7 Common Traits For a Love Connection” in your business, you will elevate yourself from the rest of your competition. After all, the goal is to find a Business “Love Connection” – that perfect match between you as the service and results provider and your clients, right?

At the end of the day, when Chuck asks your client “Would you like to go out with him/her again?”, Your client’s answer should be a resounding yes!

Just for fun, I am sharing with you this RAW “Brainstorm” notes I did for my book launch! This is just one of the multiple notes I’ve created prior to creating a digital flowchart/mindmap. I love technology but I still prefer pouring my heart onto pen and paper…Seriously, there are sooo many pieces of this puzzle that I would have easily paid $50,000 to have someone do this for me!!!

Why am I taking the time to go through this intense and painstaking process right now and share this with you? To encourage you to choose function over perfection and to not get caught up on making things perfect before you take action.  Wanting to be perfect first before you take action is a trap.  Just decide to move forward and do something to what it is that you’re resisting or finding difficulty in doing.
