My Aunt Emilia… My Heroine

By Emma on December 2, 2011 7 Comments

Three weeks ago, we received news that my Mom’s older sister, my dearest Aunt Emilia (Tiya Milya to us nieces and nephews) came down with pneumonia.  At 91 years old, she truly was spunky and energetic despite the fact that she literally stopped eating for weeks on and the doctor just gave her a few days to live.

My Mom lives with me and thank goodness for her iPod touch, she’s able to connect with our super extended family in Marikina City, Philippines – my beloved hometown.  That’s when she gets real time updates on the progress of Aunt Emilia – special mention and thanks to Ellen Muriel – De Guzman and Emma de Guzman for  keeping my Mom posted on her progress.

It was so sad to see my Mom cry thinking of her sister everyday and how she may never see her again.  I then thought about Skype video chat!  We immediately set up our computers and connected on Skype! Looking back, why didn’t we think about it early on?

This was a photo taken 3 weeks ago when my Aunt Emilia’s images first appeared on screen… before she even saw my Mom’s image on her monitor.

When my Mom saw her, she cried even louder – she couldn’t believe how tiny she has become. Garrett immediately jumped into the camera and was in awe of seeing my Aunt who shares so much resemblance to my Mom… Garrett kept on telling her “You are so beautiful, Auntie… I love you!”

What was truly touching was when I saw both sisters, reaching out to each other on the screen and started touching the screen to “hold each other’s hands”.

That  loving gesture brought a smile on my Aunt’s face!  Just look at the difference from the initial photo to the the photo with her aura completely changed and you can see JOY in her eyes!  Oh that smile!

Seeing my Aunt Emilia and her relationship with my Mom, reminded me of the deep bond they have for each other and rightfully so.

My Mom is the youngest of 8 children and Aunt Emilia was 11 years older than her.  During the World War II when my Mom was 12 years old, the Americans who were fighting against the Japanese Army, accidentally bombed Marikina City and their parents – my grandparents – died in that bombing.  I never got to meet them though my Mom always told me that I looked like my Grandma Braulia.

From that point forward, it was my Aunt Emilia who took care of my Mom and stepped up as her Mom and Dad rolled into one person!  I can only imagine how a 22 year old can take over as the matriarch for a brood of 8 siblings!

Right there speaks of what courage and faith my Aunt Emilia had.  I remember as a young child how generous and open-hearted she was.  She would come to our house from time to time to check on my Mom and her kids.  Yes, she was very strict and firm yet beloved by many because she has such a great sense of humor.  She’s a teacher by heart and worked as a teacher while having to rear 6 children of her own.

What I really remember so vividly from my Aunt Emilia was her love for education and books.  I remember when I was in 4th grade, she came to our house with a big brown box full of books from America!  Really old and used hardbound books with  short stories for children.  They were surplus books from their school and she wanted us to have them so we’ll start reading…

That was the beginning of my love affair with books and cultivating a thirst for knowledge.  When everyone else played outside,  I would stay in my room surrounded by books for hours and feeling the gratitude to her for giving us those books!

I remember when my Uncle Ponce – her husband – passed away probably almost 30 years ago – she would go visit his grave at the cemetery EVERY SINGLE DAY!  She did that consistently and without fail for 30 years.  I have never seen such dedication, commitment and love… EVER!

Through her inspiration, my life was never the same.  It was her who inspired me to gain the love for reading and to this day I kept that love and passion for books.  It was through her actions that I learned the love and commitment for family and to my husband.  Her life story taught me to be courageous and have faith, against the odds.  She truly is one of my most favorite aunts and to this day, she continues to inspire me!

Two weeks ago, her family asked my Mom to fly back to the Philippines and frantically, we booked her on the next flight out.  My Mom spent 2 weeks with her and although my Aunt Emilia’s strength started dwindling and she was getting weaker and weaker by the day, it was so wonderful to know that she was surrounded by the love of her grateful family, yes including my Mom.

My Aunt Emilia passed away yesterday and my heart grieves…

I am grieving from sadness yet with joy, knowing that she’s in a much better place… A place that’s free from pain and struggle.  It’s so reassuring to know that she is now with her beloved husband my Uncle Ponce and are bound to spend eternity together, hand in hand, living in pure love…

My Aunt Emilia’s life’s purpose has been absolutely served.  She lived an absolute full life and has planted so many seeds of greatness among many.  I am just one of the many people she has inspired just by living a life of faith, hope and love!

We could only hope that we too are able to find and serve our life’s purpose doing what we love with those whom we love.  Through my Aunt Emilia’s inspiration, I found mine and it is my fervent prayer that you too will do whatever it takes to find yours and use that purpose to serve others.

To my Aunt’s Emilia’s family, I love you all and I am right there with you, grieving yet celebrating her life with utmost GRATITUDE.

With Love…

Emma

Grateful for Gratitude

By Emma on November 24, 2011 No Comments

The table is set, turkey is in the oven,  Emma’s “World Famous” stuffing ingredients are chopped up, Cranberry Orange Relish is simmering, and everything is a go with my Baked Yam, Green Bean Casserole, Creamed Corn and bottles of wine and champagne is chilling nicely.

It’s my 22nd Thanksgiving in the US… Funny, there were times when people greeted me with:
“Happy Thanksgiving to your family in the Philippines!”  I remember being a smarty pants, responding to them, “Thanks… but the Pilgrims didn’t really make it to the Philippines!”

As clever as that may seem, we don’t really need to have a pilgrim experience to be grateful.  I believe that while Thanksgiving Day is truly special and means so much to so many, I also believe:

GRATITUDE should be part of our daily life – we don’t need to wait for a special occasion to be grateful…

It’s truly sad when I hear some people who are bitter and just have the hardest time finding something to be grateful for.   Yes, just like a New Year’s resolution,  gratitude somehow finds a way during some of the main seasons in their lives – their birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year, etc.

Gratitude is not as easy as it seems.  In my experience, I had to train myself to be grateful.  I had to make a constant decision to look at a situation and find something to be grateful for in that very moment.

Gratitude is not simple.  It’s much easier to find the bad, to complain and invite people to our pity parties.  The truth is, no matter how we think our friends will come to our pity parties, they really don’t care and don’t want to hear it.  Most of them are just being polite as they too might decide to have a pity party one day and would want to invite you too!

Today, I am thankful for GRATITUDE.  I am grateful for gratitude.  For the ability to really find the good in a seemingly bad situation and be able to “pivot” or train my mind and heart to find some sense in what’s going on around me, good or bad, and for the most part really digging for the good… digging for the golden lesson.

Without the ability to be grateful or to even be aware that gratitude exists is equivalent to having no faith and purpose.

Gratitude opens up doors that no one can shut…

Gratitude is your invitation to the banquet table of abundance…

Gratitude enables you to receive so much more of what it is that you’re grateful for…

Gratitude elevates you to a position in your life you never thought possible.

So, on this Thanksgiving Day, I just want to say I am grateful for you my dearest friends, readers and subscribers and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve, inspire and equip you with my life’s experiences that is predominantly borne out of gratitude.

So as you enjoy your festivities and precious time with friends, remember to be GRATEFUL FOR GRATITUDE itself because to have that grateful heart, 24 in 7, 7 days a week is really a gift we must train ourselves to receive and put into use.

What will you commit to doing from now on to be sure that you remain in the state of gratitude?

Would love to hear your Comment and please Share this post and connect with me on Facebook.  You can also join our Relational Marketers Community.

The Gold Is There All Along…

By Emma on October 19, 2011 6 Comments

I had a great client session this morning… I am so proud of my client who’s moving forward so rapidly and is so gung-ho and passionate about the clarity of the direction her branding and her business is going.

She said to me: “Emma… I am doing this and that and I am becoming more visible in social media but how come I am not converting people?”

I assured her that she’s not alone… that this truly is one of the missing “gold” pieces that is the most overlooked by most entrepreneurs.

Part of what I coach clients on is what I call their “Marketing Funnel”.  Some people call it an “Ascension Model” and some call it a “Sales Mountain” or a “Sales Funnel” this is the 3rd P in my video course “5 Paths To Profits”, called Process.

It’s the area of the funnel that sadly is the most overlooked phase, and that is creating your

PRODUCT

Yes, your very own product.  That is the GOLD that has always been there but is normally stepped over.

This is daunting to most people who are starting out because they are so focused in the marketing piece.  They are busy with social media, creating videos, attending live events without really fine tuning this very critical component of their Marketing Funnel…

Most of the time, people identify their “Free Offer” or “Ethical Bribe” or the product or service they will offer in exchange for their prospects’ name and email but they are forgetting that a critical part of the progression is their own PRODUCT.

A product can be your own book, video training, your own system but this is different from your free offer because one thing about this product is that this is the product you actually

SELL

That’s right… a product that you SELL…

The missing piece that most marketers fail to put in their puzzle is that they actually need to conceptualize and create a product to sell.

What are you selling? If you don’t have anything to sell, what are you offering?  If you’re offering Coaching or Consulting and you’re  not getting clients, perhaps it’s time to put your efforts in creating your own product to give your customers a sampling of what you can do for them.

If you don’t have a Product to sell, why not?

Please keep me posted on your progress… Let me know how this post has helped you by sharing this post with your friends and leaving a comment.

Until We Connect…

Sinbad Sailed The 7 Seas… I Soared Through My 7 C’s”

By Emma on September 26, 2011 3 Comments

"Sinbad Sailed the 7 Seas, I Soared Through the 7 Cs"

A month or so ago, I posted a survey in my beloved The Relational Marketers Group
on Facebook.  I asked them this question:

“Which Areas Would You Be Interested In Learning More From at my LIVE
MeetUps?”

I gave them 13 choices and they were encouraged to mix and match and
prioritize.  Below is the result of that survey:

1) Facebook Fan Page – 2

2) Info-Product Creation – 5

3) Simplifying Social Media -  1

4) Video Creation -  4

5) Overcoming Fear of Visibility – 1

6) Overcoming Fear of Video = 0

7) Blogging - 2

8 Search Engine Optimization -  4

9) Posturing in Online and Offline Networking -  3

10) Branding -  6

11) Lead Capture Pages -  2

12) Autoresponder/Email Marketing -  3

13) Blueprint to put together all of the above! – 5

Our group has grown since this survey and these results will probably change.  I do find it
interesting that the above results are based on the opinion of the most interactive
members of the group and I want to thank them so much for their participation, please find
their names and their websites on the bottom of this post.

What I found interesting is that NONE of them needed help with “Overcoming the Fear of Video” and only 1 checked “Overcoming Fear of Visibility”.

I was right on with my expectation that to have a “Blueprint On How To Put Things Together Is VERY Important but was quite impressed when “Info-Product Creation” also came up as a top priority.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that “Branding” came up as THE TOP PRIORITY for
this group!  This is so exciting for me because this is what I am passionate about!  To
help entrepreneurs with:

“The 7 Cs of Branding for Visibility, Influence and Profits!

  1. Clarify The Passion You Can Monetize
  2. Create Your Product and Service Offering
  3. Construct Your Marketing Funnel
  4. Communicate Your Brand Message – “The Emma5″
  5. Circulate Your Content Online
  6. Connect At The Heart Convert Prospects To Clients To Relationships For Life
  7. Collaborate With Industry Leaders, Movers and Shakers and Up and Comers!

This is the essence of what clients pay me thousands of dollars for and I have
packaged these in my basic course, “5 Paths to Profits”.

This is the essence of RELATIONAL MARKETING.

Same topics I will be discussing at our Interactive Teleseminars and Webinars

A Fork In The Road…

By Emma on September 20, 2011 2 Comments

I am so excited about my upcoming S.O.A.R. Secrets of Astounding Results- LIVE Event with my dear friend, Kathy Eppley on October 8, 2011 at the JW Marriott in Santa Monica, CA.

However, this past week truly has been one of the busiest weeks I’ve had as an entrepreneur.

I had to make so many choices and I mean it seems like everyday, I was carrying a weighing scale on the pros and cons of each decision.

I mean, how do you balance being a Solopreneur, a Parentpreneur, a Consultant, a Coach, a Brand and Marketing Strategist, a Wife, a Homeschool Teacher, Financial Planner, Corporate CEO/CFO, a Mastermind Member and still have time to plan live events, Meetups, webinars, maintain an active Facebook Group, create marketing campaigns and still look semi-decent on videos that I put out online?

If you’re reading this, you know what I’m talking about as chances are, you too are juggling your time and everyday, you’re making decisions and find yourself always prioritizing.

Forget the fact that I am an introvert functioning in a more extrovert world.  Yes, interesting, isn’t it? I started reading this book “The Introvert Advantage” last night and it was quite fascinating!  I will share more about that on another post.

My point for this post is this.  We will constantly and consistently encounter forks in the road… we will always be faced with decisions to make and the fact is:

NO ONE CAN MAKE A MORE EFFECTIVE DECISION THAT YOU!

Period, end of story.

Sometimes, we are afraid to take full responsibility for our decision that we delegate, even our decisions.

Don’t believe me?

When you’re out with family and friends and they ask you:  “Where do you want to eat?”  What’s your immediate response?

“You pick… I eat anything except __________”

Why can’t we just say:  “Well, right now I am craving Sushi or Italian or French or Chinese…”

I think I know why… it’s either we don’t want to make the wrong choice or we simply want to be respectful or please our friends.  That’s perfectly fine but when the decision of where to eat becomes like a tennis match, not only does it become annoying, it clearly shows that no one can make a decision.

I have an amazingly brilliant Coach and his name is Mark Rabbitt… He used to be a Drill Instructor for the U.S. Marines so you can only imagine how he truly helps me commit to things and get things done!

Emma Tiebens and Coach Mark Rabbitt

In the beginning, I had qualms in being coached by such a structured coach.  I am rather a “softie” and even if I already know how to commit and get things done,  Mark adds that element of enabling me to make a more serious commitment in a very loving yet very stern way that really helps me take action especially when I am faced with “forks in the road”.

Last week, he shared with me this profound statement that is now etched in my heart and I now want to share with you:

“When you’re faced with a fork in the road, just decide on which path you feel is best in the moment and BELIEVE that you will be fully SUPPORTED.  People and ideas will MANIFEST along the way….”

Decisions will always be a part of our life.  The more we get better at deciding which road to take and believing that no matter which road we take we will be fully supported, the closer we’ll be to living our life’s purpose.

The good news is that we are ALWAYS free to choose and the more comfortable and confident we get with our choices, the more “unstuck” you become.  A stalemate is caused by indecision and indecision is making a decision to not decide.

From this point forward, decide that when you’re faced with a fork in the road and have to make a decision, just decide and move forward.  You just might discover some pleasant surprises you’ve never even expected along the way…

As always, your Comments are appreciated and please visit us on Facebook and “Like” our Page… And if you’re looking for a very supportive group, visit us at The Relational Marketers Group.  We have a phenomenal group of Spirit Driven Entrepreneurs who are Go-Givers waiting to empower you!

The Power To Create Your Life… NOW

By Emma on September 16, 2011 No Comments

Michael Stevenson, Emma Tiebens, Mari Smith, Lynn Rose and Ann DeVere

In 2001, my husband and I attended our very first live 2-day Personal Development seminar at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas and it was called “Passion, Profit and Power” by a highly celebrated Speaker and Trainer.  What made this a milestone event was the fact that this was the first time we actually paid thousands of dollars to attend this 2-day event which ultimately led to investing into a 180 day Mentorship.

This event 10 years ago was truly life changing for Gary and I.  We came home refreshed, optimistic and having a different perspective about life after that weekend.

Why am I sharing this with you?  It’s because this event was my VERY first exposure to personal development and what I didn’t realize then, was that during the entire weekend,  we were exposed to near-linguistic programming (NLP), embedded commands, hypnotic suggestions and many other strategies and techniques that were absolutely foreign to me, yet literally turned my life around!  It raised my consciousness level and the desire to be, do and have more!

That weekend was the catalyst to my commitment to say NO to mediocrity and playing… It was during that weekend when I fully understood that I had

THE POWER TO CREATE MY LIFE… NOW!

Next week, you too will have the opportunity to meet someone I absolutely admire who has an innate ability to really help transform your life! The best part for you?  He has given me a few seats worth $1,150 each to gift to my Relational Marketer friends!

Why do I speak so highly of Michael?

Six months ago, there was a name that surfaced on my Facebook Wall…. the name, is

MICHAEL STEVENSON.

I didn’t know much about Michael except that he was amazing at supporting and sharing my posts, photos and videos, he would send me personal FB emails from time to time, and I would also see him support mutual friends.

I checked out his website www.TransformDestiny.com “Turning Dreams To Reality” and I was intrigued by it.  Reading about the content of what Michael specializes in reminded me so much about the many mentors I have embraced since 2001.  Mentors who also acknowledges the same training and has helped me with:

1)  The power of the sub-conscious,
2)  Positive self-talk
3)  Eliminating self-limiting beliefs.
4)  Desiring a better life for themselves and their families
5)  Up-leveling my game

I wanted to find out more about Michael and I started reciprocating.  It was “Relational Marketing” at its best!  We finally met at a live event 3 months ago and I feel as though I have known him forever!

Once I had Michael on my radar, I noticed that all my friends and mentors spoke of him in the highest regard.  As I get to know Michael, I began to gain more and more respect for him.  I was very impressed that his LIVE weekend events had over 200 people! Then I found out he’s a best selling author of many books, including this one:  Unstuck: The Owners Manual for Success!

Unstuck: The Owners Manual For Success

Being a Speaker and Trainer myself, I know what it takes to have people come to your event:

YOU NEED TO PRODUCE RESULTS

There is no denying that Michael’s teachings work.  He only shares his personal life experiences that has worked for him and for his many clients.  I have spoken to many of his students who have implemented his teachings and have moved on to generate multiple figure income and overcome self limiting beliefs.  They all took hold of

THE POWER TO CHANGE THEIR LIFE…. NOW!

How is this possible?

“The Power to Create Your Life… Now! is the pinnacle of over a decade of Michael’s training, experience and wisdom.

This is Michael at his most inspirational, at his most energetic, at his finest.

This is his masterpiece.

This spectacular three-day event will jump-start your life and help you bring about the incredible changes you crave while teaching you how to overcome any obstacle that may stand in your way.

Unlike “motivational seminars,” this event is designed to be the most empowering growth experience of your life. You will walk out with actual tools that you can use immediately and in the future, so you don’t have to come back to get the same high.

When you leave, you’ll live it.”

As part of my “Relational Marketing” promise, I am able to invite you to Mentors and  VIP Events I fully recommend.  Michael is having his rare “Power to Create Your Life… Now” event on September 23-25, 2011 at the Irvine Marriott and I will be there.  I am extremely busy and have limited the events I attend. However Michael is one event I wouldn’t miss for anything.  He has become a great friend and a peer, yet I know I will learn a ton from him and his event.

I have very limited seats available to gift you with.  Imagine not having to pay the $1,150 that others have paid for to be at his event!

Click here to secure your seat at Michael Stevenson’s

THE POWER TO CREATE YOUR LIFE… NOW

And just as my life turned around in 2001 when I embraced a Mentor who showed me possibilities and taught me specialized techniques and strategies to do so, I invite you to embrace my good friend Michael Stevenson and discover and the secrets and possess:

THE POWER TO CREATE YOUR LIFE… NOW!

I look forward to meeting you there!

Until We Connect, I Am Cheering You On To Your Success!

Make 9/11 Count For Something

By Emma on September 11, 2011 10 Comments

At 5:30 am on September 11, 2001 I was in a very deep sleep when our home phone rang. It was my husband’s friend, Tim calling us looking for Gary, hoping that he hasn’t left for work just yet. I remember feeling exceptionally tired that morning… Perhaps it’s because at that time, I was 5 months pregnant with our “miracle son” Garrett.

Tim was so distraught and he said: “Turn on the news! There was a major explosion in New York and the Twin Towers were bombed!”

I sat in bed in shock and I wept as I witnessed a plane crash into one of the Twin Towers. At first, I was on denial. I thought to myself, this has got to be the biggest prank ever puled off my the media, and this can’t be happening. It was simply incomprehensible that something like this could happen to the US… the strongest and most loved nation in the world! Well, at least that’s what I thought then….

As the events about the flights unfolded, I then realized that a plane was actually flown right into the building and shortly I found out there were 2 United Airlines Flights involved in the planned attack that morning – UA Flight 175 and UA Flight 93. As soon as I heard that, my entire body froze.  Why were these flights relevant to me that day?

It’s because these flights were part of my regular flight assignments a few months back, just before I got pregnant.

Emma Tiebens United Airlines Flight Attendant

Being quite familiar with those routes hit me hard when I heard of what happened to those flights. I vividly remembered the exact layout of both the 767 and 757 and was mortified as the news speculated on what could have happened to the passengers and crew of those flights. I broke down with emotion as I couldn’t bear to imagine how horrifying those last few minutes were for the Flight Attendants and passengers on board.

My brain couldn’t process what was going on… I thought about how all of those people on the flight, left their homes, drove their cars or had shuttle pick up or friends drop them off that morning to the airport, eagerly waited for their flights, boarded the plane and were greeted and welcomed by the Flight Attendants.

I thought about those Flight Attendants and Pilots who said good-bye to their families that morning, to go to work, check in at their Inflight Offices, did their briefings, boarded the plane, did their pre-flight safety check, prepared the Galley and welcomed the passengers with a smile.

What seemed to be a typical day of work turned into the nightmares or nightmares!

I got on my hands and knees, thanking God that I wasn’t working that flight, as I could have easily been one of the Flight Attendants working that trip that day!  At the same time, I felt horrible and sick to my stomach to even begin to imagine of what really happened to the flight crew and their passengers.

I didn’t know how to feel… On one hand, I was saying, “Thank you God, for saving my life….”

Yet I was sad, confused and wondered, “Why them and not me?”

I did my best to function that day.  I remember I jumped out of bed, went to the bank, took $3,000 in cash, then went grocery shopping for canned goods and food.  In my mind I was thinking of The Port of Los Angeles could be the next target.  I felt as tough we actually lost a huge part of our freedom.

Much has happened since 9/11/01.  Our Garrett is now almost 10 years old and while he was in Mommy’s tummy on 9/11/01, he has an understanding of what went on during that day and the critical role it played in our history.

Just the other day, I was with him at the grocery store and I saw this cover of People Magazine:

The image of this girl on the front cover, holding a photo of her father on a necklace that she wears, was a painful yet inspiring reminder of that day.  I showed Garrett photos of more children in the magazine who have truly never seen their parents who were killed from the senseless acts of 9/11.

There was a big shift in his demeanor that morning.  We paged through the magazine together, we looked at the photos and as we read more about how these children have to grow up missing one or both parents, he asked me:  “Mom, I feel so sorry for them… why would people do such a bad thing?”

I had to think long and hard before I answered that.  I wanted to make sure that commemorate this day with respect, reverence and gratitude.  I want to make sure that this day will have a positive meaning for him so that it will count for something and not just be another day in history.

To Garrett’s question, I simply answered:

“People do things – bad or good – for different motivation and while we can’t control the outcome, there is one thing we always have control of, and that is what lesson or story we choose to get out of everything happens in our lives, knowing that how we need deal with such circumstances is what truly shapes our character.”

Sure I could have instigated anger, hate and disappointment but I wanted the sacrifices of our esteemed men and women from 9/11 to count for something.

I chose to have 9/11 mean something more than just being a conspiracy theory or a result of a religious war or simply the inability of government to protect us.

I chose to honor this day as something that has reshaped and strengthened America and her people and not focus on the vulnerability and the weakening of a great nation.

I believe that if we all do our best to never forget and make 9/11 count for something and teach the generations after us that this day is when Americans showed the world that in diversity, we showed strength, that in our weakest days, even for one brief moment, we stood firm and once again put the word “UNITED” back in the United States.

Let’s make 9/11 count for something by not forgetting and by making something out of ourselves and collectively making a difference.  Yes, I am a naturalized citizen of the United States but I LOVE AMERICA, probably more than some people who have been given the privilege to be born here yet take that for granted.  If they only knew how millions of people all over the world would do whatever it takes to have the opportunity to come here, there might be more of an appreciation for that blessing of being born here.

In the words of my favorite song:

“I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m FREE

And I won’t forget the men who died who gave that right to me,
And I’d gladly stand up, next to him and defend her still today

Coz there ain’t no doubt I LOVE THIS LAND

God Bless the USA…”

My Birthday Wish… Is About YOU!

By Emma on September 1, 2011 6 Comments

With My "Boys" Cheering Me On At My 2-Day Speaking Event...

I am about to celebrate my “21st” birthday – (again)  in a few days and the days leading to my birthday is filled with highs and lows…

Amazing how it has been a year since we’ve moved out of our home and moved into the new… I remember last year, I was unpacking our moving boxes when I realized that it’s my birthday and gosh darn it, I was going to celebrate it even if Gary (my husband) was out of town…

OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

I changed from my sweats into jeans, told Garrett to do the same and off we went to Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA… one of our favorite places to walk around in.

I remember Garrett took a video of me last year and the video is below…

I will never forget this particular birthday because even when the emotions are high, it felt as if a HUGE weight was lifted off me.  I felt as if I just became UNSTOPPABLE!

It felt as if God was saying to me… “Trust me my child… I have something so much better for you that’s beyond what you can see right now…

What was interesting is that I had full acceptance of the situation. Sure there was sadness and regret but I was full of HOPE.  It was then that I found myself saying “NO” to a lot of things:

NO to Mediocrity

NO to Playing It Small

NO to Fear of Failure

NO to Fear of Success

NO to Fear of Not Being Good Enough

NO to Bright and Shiny Objects, and

NO to Negative People and Environment

THEN I SAID YES!

As I said NO to many things, I also said YES to even more possibilities:

YES to Investing In Mentors I Respect and Want To Become

YES to Being Vulnerable

YES to Becoming a Speaker

YES to Sharing My Story To Inspire Others

YES to Writing My Book and Sharing My Story

YES to Creating My Own M90X System

YES to Offering a High End Program

YES to Being More Selective of the People I Spent Time With

YES to Being More Bold About Who I Am and The Purpose I Was Called For.

YES to Being Comfortable to Ask More For My Time

YES to Being More Selective of The Clients I Accept.

YES to Putting Family First

YES to Spirit Driven Marketing

YES to a QUANTUM LEAP!

So guess what?  The months after our move was when I generated income that I never thought I was capable of with strategies I never thought I was cut out to do!

3 weeks after the move, I attended Joel Bauer’s Profit Point Speaker Mastery and 2 1/2 months out of the gates, I had my first 2-day “Relational Marketing Secrets” LIVE Event!  Shortly after that, I had clients who paid me for my high end consulting and word of mouth was inevitable!  Joint Venture offers and Collaboration opportunities started coming before I even really understood what to do with them! It was the most empowering feeling ever!

Something absolutely shifted with the way leaders and influencers perceived me. They now look to me as a peer.  Could it be that once I stepped into who I truly was, it was then that I started to emit that high and  powerful energy?  Friends started coming out of the wood-works to support me and for the first time, I was comfortable receiving their gifts.  Oh I can’t wait for you to experience that feeling!

It’s amazing how clarity truly comes after commitment… As soon as I made the decision to listen to my Yeses, doors started opening right and left.  Opportunities for collaboration opened up and I was at the best position to take advantage of them.  Clients started seeking me and some even had to chase me to pay me!

SO WHAT’S MY BIRTHDAY WISH FOR YOU?

My birthday wish for you, is that you too will start saying YES to the same things I said YES to.

And just as I have been gifted with for the past year, my prayer is that you too will be gifted with:

1) Discernment – to know what’s best for you and your families in this NOW moment.

2) Ease and Grace – that you will allow yourselves to receive the gifts God is holding in   safe-keeping for you.

3) Courage - that you are good enough exactly where you are right now.

4) Wisdom - to really understand that you were give all the right parts to succeed.

5) Abundance – that you have access to the same resources successful people have access to… you just need to get out of your own way!

6) Visibility - to broaden your reach so your message can be heard.

7) Influence – to uplevel your circle of influence – increase your network to increase your net worth!

8) Great Health – so you can live life to the fullest and spend more time with those you love.

9) Boldness – so you will start playing bigger games and positively impact more lives.

10) Spirituality – so you can fully realize the untapped potential you have knowing that Success is in your DNA.

Lessons From A Chinese Bamboo Tree…

By Emma on August 16, 2011 2 Comments

As I sit here in bed enjoying a peaceful sunrise from my bedroom window (after supervising a sleep over last night),  I reviewed past entries from my journal and came across a time when I wrote about the Lessons from a Chinese Bamboo Tree…

I remember about 3 years ago, as I wondered why things weren’t happening as fast as I would like in my business,  a good friend of mine shared with me this story.

To plant a Chinese Bamboo tree,   you prepare the soil, pick the right spot, then plant the seed. You water it and wait… and wait… and wait…  You continue to water it for  an entire year and nothing appears. No bud, no sprout, nothing.   So you keep watering and diligently mark the area taking care of a plant that should be there but you just couldn’t see.  Oh sure, people told you it’s going to take a while for it to sprout and you’re okay with that because you believe that if you nurture it, someday, you’ll have this beautiful tree.

Year 2, you continue to care for the  plant, and you wait some more. You wait another year and nothing still happens. Okay, you are a persistent person not prone to giving up, but to see no results is making you doubt if there truly is growth happening underneath that soil… However, you have heard many success stories of other people around you who have planted the same seed.  You are deeply inspired by their story so you continue to water, nurture the soil and perhaps even talking to the ground and begging for the seeds to start showing some growth!

Now, it has been three years. You started doubting and waivering, saying to yourself, am I a special kind of fool, believing in something that was too far fetched?  Then you start checking out other seeds of plants that don’t take that long to grow.  You thought to yourself, what if there was a similar plant out there that will give you better results for less effort?  Why not just plant a dandelion  where you see immediate signs of growth in days?  You wonder why you had to pick a Chinese Bamboo.  You start losing sight of your purpose and your faith starts to diminish…You decided to re-commit yourself for the entire third year.

Now you’re going on four years and your becoming more disillusioned and are experiencing a deeper sense of  doubt, frustration, anger.  You started wondering,

“Is it how I water that’s causing the seed not to grow?”

“Perhaps, my faith isn’t strong enough for the tree to grow.”

“I should probably raise my energy vibration to the seed will feel it.”

“Could it be that I am hanging out with crazy gardeners who are lying to me?”

“Am I just too proud to accept defeat and nothing is really going to come out from this?”

“This couldn’t be my fault… my family should have supported me more.

You were short of going crazy but you decided that you’ve already spend time and lots of dedication and effort toward this plant and that you will continue to give it your best care for another year.  In fact, you told yourself, this is the year when you will think only positive thoughts and will focus on seeing the bamboo as if it was already grown, providing you with such beautiful and refreshing shade and symbolic of something which seemed unattainable yet now in your possession.  You started truly experiencing the bamboo as it it was already there!

Year five, the magic year.  People said you’ll see growth for sure.  So now, you’re confident.  You can proudly say that if you don’t see results this year, you’ll stop watering, confidently give up on the idea, knowing that you did your best and just write off the experience as a time to strengthen and test your faith and perseverance.  You begin year number five with the same passion as day number one. You water, you wait. You keep watering and keep waiting. You water some more and then…

Could it be?

Is it really?

Am I seeing what I’m seeing?

Yes!!!  There it is, something sticking out of the dirt. It’s a tiny green stub!  You started doing the happy dance!  You wanted to spend the night there and spend each and every moment with your bamboo! You were so excited to finally see results, no matter how small it was… As excited as you were about seeing results, you wondered if it’s going to take you another 4 years to see the bamboo grow to at least 4 feet.

You come back the next day and WOW it has really grown! It seemed like it grew by 2 feet overnight!  In fact you come back each day for about six weeks and it kept on growing and growing and each time you see it grow, you are moved to tears because you are absolutely blown away by how fast it grows.  It’s short of magical and miraculous to see a tree do that!

Finally after 6 weeks, the  Chinese Bamboo tree stops growing— you measure and now, it is over 80 feet tall! Yes, 80 feet in six weeks!

Really? Did it really grow 80 feet in 6 weeks?

No… it grew 80 feet in five years!

As business owners, we are all nurturing our own Chinese Bamboo seeds and our desired outcome is for them them to grow into the majestic, awe-inspiring, empowering and mighty Chinese Bamboo Tree.

I continue to see major sprouts in my own Chinese Bamboo Tree… the specialized education, relationships and success stories I continue to create with happy and successful clients gives me that excitement and anticipation for the 80 ft. growth ahead through my VIP Programs and Offerings as well as speaking on Relationship Marketing, globally.

Can You Really Become the Bank?

By Emma on July 27, 2011 No Comments

About 2 years ago, I met my friends Jorge Bueno and MaryAnne Morcos.  They were introduced to me by a friend I absolutely trust, Jerry Chen and a year later, we have become really great friends and peers and they even invited my husband and I at the recent Grammy Awards Ceremony as their special guest!

Gary, MaryAnne, Emma and Jorge At the 2011 Grammy Awards

When I met Jorge and MaryAnne in Dec. 2009 at an event called “Business Codex – How to Get The Money To Fund Your Business”, I wasn’t sure what to make of their event as it was different from anything I’ve been exposed to when it comes to building credit.

What made them really unique is that they truly are passionate about helping you build a solid “Mental Wealth Foundation” before, they give you their incredible blueprint on how you can set up your corporation and prepare yourself and your corporation to ethically and effectively build your corporate credit.

As a result of their Mentorship, I was able to establish a corporation, and get funding for our corporation.  I was able to implement his key strategies where the banks literally offering us money!  Jorge also taught me something so simple as the “Honor and Dishonor Code” that I implemented just one of the principles and it enabled me to save over $19,000!

Jorge and MaryAnne are having their Business Codex LIVE Event this coming August 6 and 7 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport.  I will be there to raise my bar as well as to host a power MeetUp Group on Saturday evening.

I promised you that I was going to let you know of V.I.P. Events as they come and here is one event you wouldn’t want to miss.  The best part is because of my unique relationship with Jorge and MaryAnne, I have a special VIP Code I’d like to share with the first 10 people who respond to this.  The code is:

emmavip

Here’s what you’ll need to do.

1) Click here to go to Business Codex Live Event Page.

2) Choose the ticket for $497.00 and use the drop down arrow and choose

how many tickets you need.

3) Below the ticket options is a link for Discount Code.  Enter emmavip on the box and then click on “Apply Discount Code”.  You will see your ticket price go down to $97.  That’s how much you’ll pay, NOT $497.

Don’t take my word for it… check out their page for some incredible success stories:

Business Codex Live Event.

I look forward to seeing you there!  Jorge will tell you secrets strategies the banks and the government won’t tell you so come, learn and implement!

So can you really become the bank? I don’t know… all I know is some of Jorge’s students have already become their own banks and I know the possibilities are there for you and I too! Come join us!

Until We Connect…
