Why Worry Is USELESS and UNNECESSARY…

By Emma on August 31, 2009 No Comments

Here in beautiful Westin Mission Hills Villas in Rancho Mirage, CA for our family’s annual desert vacation.  My family understands that while we’re here, I need to divide my time between focused and inspired creativity as well as quality family time just relaxing poolside, couch time, watching movies in bed, dining out and some shopping.

Having been here for 2 days now, I really haven’t had the time to sit down for that “inspiration” to create my video curriculum to kick-in.  I just wanted to spend time with my family.  Although I know that’s the right thing to do, I still worry about my commitment to myself and to the people waiting for my video coaching to be completed.  So naturally, I started to worry that I won’t have a finished product by week’s end…

Well, at 5:30 a.m. today,  in my Inbox is this Purpose Driven Daily Devotional by Rick Warren… I thought I’d share it with you as it has truly enlightened me and it is my hope and prayer that it does the same for you!

Worry is something you learn to do.

There is no such thing as a “born worrier.” It is a learned response to life. You learned to worry from two sources:

1. You learned to worry from experience. After years of mistakes, failures, and unfulfilled expectations, you’ve discovered that things don’t always turn out right. Out of these experiences you formed the habit of worrying.

2. You learned to worry from examples. There are many models around you. Studies show that children usually pick up their parent’s worries. Anxious parents raise anxious kids.

Since worry is a learned response to life, it can be unlearned!

The starting point for overcoming worry is to realize it is useless. It does you no good to worry. It is “stewing without doing.” Worry has never changed anything. Worry cannot change the past. Worry cannot control the future. Worry only makes you miserable today.

Worry has never solved a problem, never paid a bill, and never cured an illness. It only paralyzes you so you can’t work on the solution. Worry is like racing a car when its engine is in neutral; it doesn’t get you anywhere, it just uses up gas.

The Bible teaches, “An anxious heart weighs a man down” (Proverbs 12:25 NIV).

On top of that, worry exaggerates the problem. It plays on your imagination. Have you ever noticed that when you worry about a problem it gets bigger? Every time you repeat if over and over in your mind you tend to add details, amplifying it so you feel worse.

What’s the solution? Instead of worrying, talk to God about what’s worrying you. He is someone who can do something about it.

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life” (Philippians 4:6–7 MSG).

Sometimes, We Just Need To Step Back…

By Emma on August 25, 2009 1 Comments

I have missed writing on my Blog for almost 2 months! This summer has truly been rather challenging. I am not complaining… I love being a Mom in the summer! Garrett and I get to do all kinds of fun things and truly my family comes first before business. It may not seem that way at times but if you ask my husband Gary and son Garrett, they will give you a resounding “yes”!

This summer, I had to step back and re-analyze the direction I am heading. I spent the last year learning, implementing, connecting and partnering and now it’s time to actually create an actual product that will help many people.

Yes, I do have an eBook in the process which I started writing back in April and it’s almost finished. However, after assessing the needs of the people who are looking up to me for guidance, one thing is certain… most people need help with creating an online presence and some of them don’t really know where to begin. Having an online presence is the easy part but a lot of work and thinking would have to be invested into what it is that you would like to put online that will be associated with you. In essence, whatever you put online becomes your brand… What will that brand be? What message will you be sharing with the world?

Amazingly, when I decided to step back from focusing on pursuing the next level for my business, I was able to spend a ton of time with my family and I was still able to do the following:

1) Cleaned up my messes – lots of them!
2) Created a very clear Vision Board w/ my good friend Amy Schuber
3) Found a Quantum Leap Coach, Tracy Repchuk c/o www.YourMillionDollarDesign.com  and committed to attending Mike Filsaime’s Annual Internet Marketers’ Caribbean Cruise in January 2010 c/o www.InternetMarketersVacations.com
4) Created my video coaching curriculum c/o Russell Brunson’s MicroContinuity Program.
5) Masterminded with a few associates for future Joint Venture Projects
6) Organized our financial documents – yes, even our taxes!
7) Edited videos for clients
8) Lost 7 lbs. in 2 weeks – thanks to Beachbody’s Turbo Jam!
9) Started a healthier lifestyle choice with My Vega.
10) And many more positive life-altering activities!

So, ask yourself, what do you need to step back from? Why do you need to do that and what do you need to accomplish while you’re making a conscious decision to step back from it?

Sometimes, to step back actually allows you to get closer to that very thing you’ve been pushing forward. That’s when “effortless” success really happens. So, if you need to step back and re-analyze things… that’s perfectly fine… just make sure that you don’t leave for too long… just like muscles, your desire to move forward towards a vision needs to be exercised…

Have a wonderful time… enjoy your break and drop me a line or two to let me know how this idea has helped you!

Is The Duplication You’re Duplicating, Duplicable?

By Emma on July 14, 2009 No Comments
Share

As many of you know, I spent a few weeks “cleaning up my messes”. Once I did that, it’s as if a heavy veil was lifted off from above me!

So, it was during my “purging” moments when I realized what’s the missing piece to my “duplication puzzle” – it was my understanding on my personal Marketing Flow or Sales Funnel!

So this weekend, I opened up my MLM Traffic Formula Manual by Mike Dillard. As my husband and son headed for the beach and the pool, I immersed myself in Traffic Formula.  As I read the manual last Sunday – I was so excited that I read all the way to page 160, highlighting, taking notes and finally understanding the flow! Everything I have done in the last 8 months have finally come together!

Yesterday, I decided to revisit Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto and Renegade Network Marketer eBooks by Ann Sieg and Mike Klingler. I read both books in 2 hours! All of a sudden, the clouds parted!  Everything that Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg  and Mike Klingler have been talking about all these years are still the same processes that bring people success time and time again.

Part of me felt a tinge of regret on why I didn’t implement those teachings right away but a part of me also said that “the present is perfect” because the reason I have learned and implemented so much in 6 months is because I DID do something! Even if what I was doing didn’t make much sense to my husband when he would ask me “How does Twitter tie in to what you do?” or “How will blogging generate you income?” I still knew that I was doing something towards the greater vision.
So yesterday for the very first time, I created my very own personal and simplified Marketing Flow and Sales Funnel. And you know what I found out? That the missing piece to everything that I do boiled down to this one simple thing – not having an effective Email Follow Up Campaign! Now that I know what I know, watch out world! ;)

This will be the very foundation where my marketing focus will be and implementation of these skills is what I will be making sure to teach my clients. This is where my exclusive “Accountability Timeline” will be based in – “the duplication I am duplicating will now be duplicable, indeed! ”

I am excited to share this illustration! I apologize in advance if it’s not too legible…I will write it out one of these days so it’s more readable. I will include this in one of my email updates I will email it to my subscribing friends down the road. If you want to be included in our weekly email update list, please go to www.RelationalMarketingNetwork.com and you will also receive immediate access to 10 videos that will teach you “How To Become A True Relational Marketer” to help you attract your perfect clients!

Why I Cleaned My Messes…Why You Should Too!

By Emma on June 30, 2009 5 Comments

Have you ever felt that something is holding your success back but can’t put your finger on it? We all aim for different levels of success and after achieving a certain level, we are ready for the next.

Sometimes though, we feel “stuck” and no matter what we do or how hard we work, we remain stuck. That’s what I felt in the past 3 months. I have been gearing up to launch my “Your Own Celebrity Video” business but somehow something gets in the way.

One of the very first lessons I learned last year regarding success breakthroughs came from a lady I so admire…her name is Dani Johnson. She introduced me to the concept of “prospering where you’re planted”. I remember her saying “God has given you talents, resources and money to manage and until you’re able to be a good custodian of it, He’s not going to give you more”.

Joyce Meyer also told me something along those lines: “You can’t expect money if you don’t respect money”.

On May 16, 2009, while attending the Dreams to Reality Summit by Best-selling Author and Success Coach, Tracy Repchuk, we had the opportunity to listen to some amazing speakers! However, there was a gentleman who grabbed my full attention. His name is Raymond Aaron. Raymond is a highly respected Life and Success Coach and what he shared with us that day was straight from God’s mouth to my heart. He said “A mess is a lock on the gate that keeps abundance out! A mess is anything on the inside that is not in congruence with your outside…” Wow, that hit me like a ton of brick!

I started thinking about the many messes that I have allowed to slowly creep into my home, my life, my relationships and my spirit. I realized that I have done a great job telling my messes “I will deal with you once I achieve this financial goal…”. What I was forgetting was that every time I see or remember a particular mess, it actually subconsciouly derails my focus!

So, for the past month, I have been busy cleaning up my messes and that includes re-organizing my garage, tidying my home office, made my DayTimer system more efficient, putting more organizers and hooks in my closet, clearing out Garrett’s closet, dusting the books in my library, washing the drapes, removing the area rug from our family room and even cleaning the floor grout in our entire home all by myself! Well, except for when our 7-yr old son Garrett wanted to help out with grout removal in the kitchen.   He actually loved it!  Now you know why I have a soft spot for Billy Mays’ Kaboom and OxiClean…they truly are amazing!  Below  are some before and after photos:

Plans to Prosper You by Emma Tiebens

While others might see this as a waste of my time, I have to disagree. It was during tidying of these messes when I received clearer revelations and business ideas that I was able to implement while cleaning my messes. My friends told me to just hire someone to do the work and normally I would have but this time, cleaning up my messes has become a personal challenge and the only victor I would accept was if the effort personally was done by me.

I am happy and proud to say that as a result of this, when I walk into my home, I feel victorious… there was no more feeling “Ugh, I wish I had more time to do that….” or “Ugh, I’m slacking on being a wife and Mom…” Getting rid of those messes truly freed me from guilt, allowing me to focus more on what I do best – encouraging and empowering others to succeed. Oh and by the way, it was during this time when I got a video client who has asked me to create 5 videos for her!

What messes do you have in your lives? Maybe it’s time for an inventory and start scheduling when you will tackle them. You never know… just by doing so could simply allow you to take the first step towards a more victorious living!

Mind Mapping…Have You Tried It?

By Emma on June 23, 2009 1 Comments
Share

This morning around 2:30am, I couldn’t sleep… so I decided to take advantage of the “silence” and started creating what’s called a Mind Map. A Mind Map is a powerful strategy that was considered ” a thinking tool that reflects externally what’s going on inside of your head – like a Swiss Army knife for the brain” – by a gentleman named Tony Buzan. Here is his video to understand how Mind Mapping works:

For my purposes, I created my colored Mind Map w/ a free toll called http:www.bubbl.us - it took a little getting used to but I did get the hang of it. Here is what I created…sorry if the text is too small.

emma-bubble-mind-map-0609-001

As for the original Mind Map I created, it needs a lot of improvement and needs to be highlighted with color but not bad for my very first attempt. Thjs truly helped me gain clarity!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your pen and paper or head on to http://www.bubbl.us and create your own Mind Map! Be sure to come back to this blog and share your link with me so I can see what you created!

Why Do You Need A Mentor or Coach?

By Emma on May 20, 2009 No Comments

VIDEO 1 OF 2 – PROVERBIAL SUCCESS PRINCIPLES VIDEO #3

VIDEO 2 OF 2 PROVERBIAL SUCCESS PRINCIPLES VIDEO #3

As part of our Proverbial Success Principles Video Series, I would like to share with you one of the most common yet overlooked success secrets:  having and choosing the right Mentor or Coach and knowing what Mentor or Coach to have in various areas of your life.

I attended the Dreams To Reality Success Summit hosted by Tracy Repchuk on May 16 – 17, 2009 at the LAX Marriott with colleague Jerry Chen.  Incredible wealth, life and business coaches shared their success secrets and the services that they offered.  To name a few:  Dave Woodward, Woody Woodward, Dave Schooley, Melanie Benson Strick, Tracy Repchuk, Adam Ginsberg, Raymond Aaron, Gail Bottomley and Bernadette Doyle.

One of the highlights of the evening was a Private Movie Screening of the Movie The Fly Boys http://www.theflyboysmovie.com .  What made that evening extra special was our chance to meet Rocco Devilliers, who directed the movie.  The Fly Boys truly is one of the best movies I have ever seen in a very long time!

Why do we need a Mentor or a Coachr? Because every great athlete and every successful team has one! Who are we not to have one?

Here are some wonderful highlights from that weekend:

Woody Woodward  - The Law Of Importance – why people do what they do – allows you to focus on that something that you will not give up on regardless of what comes your way.

Tracy Repchuk: Marketing Makeover Maestro How To Profit from your passions and have recurring riches – the acronym PASSION –  31 Days To Millionaire Marketing Miracles.

Adam Ginsberg – $20MM in 3 ½ years – it doesn’t matter why people buy – it’s not up to you, it’s up to them!  Success is the result of good judgment, good judgment from experience, experience from bad judgment.

Melanie Benson Strick – How To get 7-Figure Results with your new secret – LEVERAGE.  Right activites at the right time gets right results.  Lack of leverage leads to burn out and overwhelm. Specializes in Virtual Teams, CEO thinking and masterful delegation.  One huge lesson:  what is it that if you accomplish within 90days will get you closer to your goal?

Rocco Devilliers – Director of the movie The Fly Boys www.TheFlyBoysMovie.com . Started as a dream – 8 years in the making – his message is to have the courage to dream and believe in your dreams against all odds.

Dave Schooley- Master of Direct Response TV.  – brought you Jack Lalane’s juicer, Ab Roller/Windsor Pilates. Upsells, incentives and ethical bribes that co-incide with incentive alliance.  Rewarding people who bring you business.

Judith and Jim – soft sell or spiritual based marketing.   Instead of ROI, it’s about ROE – selling as a spiritual service.   Overcoming the fear of being fabulous!

Raymod Aaron – Monthly Mentor – one of Robert Kiyosaki’s and Jack Canfield’s mentors – I am so thrilled to now be enrolled in his Monthly Mentor programs!  He shared something so simple yet so profound regarding what is stopping us from the flow of abundance!    He’s also an advocate of doubling your income doing what you love and what’s right for you!   Your very best thinking has you exactly where you are today.

Gail Bottomley – social media queen!  She shared  about “I Saw You Out There” – Video, Blog, Forum, Facebook, Twitter…the lady knows her stuff!

Bernadette Doyle – the queen of teleseminars.  How To Have Giant PayDays with Teleseminars!  For some of us, this is the missing piece.  I believe that Bernadette has what it takes to really teach you how to find your niche and where you can help the most people!

Do You Have An Attitude Of Gratitude? Are You Waiting To Be Happy?

By Emma on May 15, 2009 No Comments
Share

As part of my weekly commitment to write an article that is an offshoot from my eBook Proverbial Success Principles, I really had to pause and think of what lesson I wanted to share this week. And with the new teachings and revelations that my family continues to implement, this principle I believe is one of the biggest principles that we need to truly understand.

It’s this question: “Do you have an attitude of gratitude?” If so, what are you grateful for? The follow up question to that is: “Do you CHOOSE to be happy or do you wait to FEEL happy?”

Every day, I encounter people offline and online and with all the uncertainties happening around us, it’s inevitable that you will come across people who are disgruntled, frustrated, fearful and anxious. It only takes a teeny trigger and they blow up with an unexplainable reaction! These nasty negative emotions are so evident with people lately…unhappiness, hatred, rage…

I am not saying we should never allow ourselves to feel negatively when we need to. All I am saying is that it is possible for us to have some control over our emotions by being aware of the state of our heart. For the past 2 years, I have gone through a roller coaster of emotions that is part of this long learning curve I chose to take on when I made a decision to transition from being an offline entrepreneur to how to become an effective online marketer.

When I would feel an onset of frustration and disappointment, my tendency was to wallow in it and have a “pity party” for myself. Now, know that when I am feeling anxious and discouraged, what I need to do is transition from a place of ungratefulness to a place of gratitude.

How does one do that? Here are 5 Things to Help You Keep An Attitude of Gratitude:

1) Make a list of what you’re grateful for daily. Have a journal if you can’t remember them. Memorize that list… have that become a part of your make-up. When you start feeling discouraged, review your list and it’s amazing what that does!
2) Replace entitlement mentality to a responsibility mentality. When we expect to be entitled to things, there is more opportunity for a let-down. Teach yourself to be responsible for your own actions. It will help you take ownership and it will lead the way for how you will react to set backs and disappointments. I believe it was Marshall Sylver who said: “to gain control, you must relinquish control”.
3) Do you have the habit of comparing yourself with others? This is a big TRAP! If you continue to compare yourself with others it’s going to be a challenge for you to be grateful for your gifts! Be yourself – you have your own target audience who are willing to hear from and be loved by you!
4) Are you CHOOSING to be happy or do you wait to FEEL happy? Happiness is a choice. Don’t wait to feel happy as that might never come. Instead, make a decision that you will choose to be happy for the most part!
5) Remember and memorize this mantra from Joyce Meyer which I have consistently applied in my day to day life: “Something good is going to happen to me today and I can hardly wait to see what God has in store for me today!” Don’t you think this sounds much better than “Another day, another opportunity to be miserable…?”

Gratitude is an attitude and it can be learned… what are you waiting for, make your list now and start writing everything that you’re grateful for now. You’ll quickly realize that the glass was truly half full along…you just thought it was half empty….

Proverbial Success Principles Video #1 – How Do I Promote My Website?

By Emma on May 5, 2009 No Comments

Happy Cinco de Mayo 2009!  It’s a GORGEOUS day here in Huntington Beach! I have my 2 nephews visiting from Manila, Philippines and I’ve been busy taking them to see beautiful Huntington Beach!

Last week, I launched our Video Series in line with the book I am launching called “Proverbial Success Principles”.  In line with that book, I have invited my Twitter and Facebook friends to participate in the video series by asking about a topic that they would like me to address in one of my video series.  Every week, I will choose 1 topic to discuss and as my “thank you” to the person who asked the question, I will give them a “free” advertising on my video for all my viewers to see…

For our first episode, the question was sent in by Dean McNamara of www.NamaraPets.com .  I was going to postpone this episode until my nephews have left but I couldn’t wait to share so I went ahead and filmed in my son’s bedroom and the lighting was horrible!  However, I didn’t turn that as an excuse not to do this video…

I promise, the next video will be much better!  Next week, we will address:  “How To Become Great At Public Speaking”.

Go to www.YouTube.com/EmmaTiebens and SUBSCRIBE. Don’t forget to leave comments, suggestions or questions on topics you would like me to discuss on my next videos… OR Go straight to www.ProverbialSuccessPrinciples.com
