Mike Klingler’s Discussion: “Inspiration” or “Desperation”?

Posted By Emma on March 6, 2010

This morning, Mike Klingler - Co-Founder of Marketing Merge and Renegade Professional, posted a discussion on his Facebook Fan Page.  I had the huge desire to give my 2 cents worth and I would like to share that with you…  If you want to participate in Mike’s Discussion, you can find the link on the bottom of this post… I welcome your comments as always…

  • Mike Klingler I’ve gotta’ say, by including the word “Lasting” in my question you can tell what I’m driving at here. For lasting results, a person must move out of feeling anxiety, worry and ‘desperation’ in order to fully connect with others and themselves (both key to a successful thriving business).

However, “desperation” is often the catalyst that drives people to movement… to take the initial action.

So what we can achieve here is a discussion that not only answers the question that kicked off the topic, but also the answer to these questions:

“How do we, as leaders, help people move from the initial phase of business development (desperation, anxiety, worry, doubt, etc) into the more empowering catalyst for creation (inspiration) which is what allows them to actually fulfill their goals in business?”

“If someone hasn’t achieved success yet, how can they feel GOOD (inspired, confident) about the process?”

I’m not just looking for external things people can do (like read books, listen to inspiring tapes, though if these have assisted you feel free to share). More so, how does the person approach the actual process of developing their business when they feel they don’t know what the heck they’re trying to do with their business yet?

That’s a lot of questions all driving at the same thing… just let er lose! I’d like to hear from you.

  • Emma Tiebens Wow Mike! Another thought and heart provoking discussion from you and I simply couldn’t resist chiming in. This was a HUGE issue for me as I evolved to where I am now and the clearer path I am heading now.

Two years ago, I barely knew how to send an email. I built my home business using traditional marketing strategies and as I was learning them, I did feel a sense of accomplishment. However I noticed that every time I learned something, it necessitated me to continue to learn more and learn more, adding a dimension to everything I needed to learn… from basics to intermediate to advance, then learning other basics, then intermediate, then advanced. There was no such thing as a COMPLETE system because we all are in different stages in our lives and in our business where we come in from different angles.

Right when I would think that one course, system or seminar is the ULTIMATE “Do-All, Be-All” to where I want to go, another pops out. Now, I don’t mind this because I am a proverbial learner… I LOVE learning new things, new technology and learning from Mentors who offer different strengths.

This is where the dilemma was - (and I learned it the hard way). With acquiring new knowledge and skills comes great sacrifice - of money, of time, of friends. I had to make choices and sacrifices of being away from my family, limiting my social life and worst, arguments with my spouse (despite his 100% support of my dreams) everytime it involves the next financial investment to further my skills.

I really thought for sure that with the time, effort and sacrifice I put into my “education” that I would have seen success within 1 year… the harder I pushed, the more elusive success became. I even began to doubt myself that I will ever see the congruency and success to everything I was doing.

At some point, desperation set in… I did things out of desperation. Desperation became my driving force. Desperation to succeed, to prove to my detractors who didn’t understand what I was doing that such a thing will work. Desperation that if I don’t succeed, we will lose our home. Desperation to save ourselves from embarassment.

One day, in a moment of meditation and prayer, I came to a realization that to be desperate is to COME FROM A PLACE OF LACK! I realized that everytime I acted in desperation, I felt this huge knot in my stomach… I was simply reacting out of fear. Suddenly, I got reminded: WHEN THERE IS FEAR, THERE IS NO FAITH!

It was all I needed to have a “heart shift” - I made a decision to come from a place of INSPIRATION. I decide to do things because it is what I am called to do… Out of the blue, my Mentor Joel Bauer showed up and he took it to a different level where I discovered my gifts and passion and the purpose for them.

Now, I come from a place of INSPIRATION. Everyday, I have a knowing that “something good is going to happen today” and I can’t wait to get out of bed because I know that what I am doing and where I am heading is so clear and so congruent with my life’s mission and purpose. Inspiration propells me to come from a place of abundance and not lack; the knowing the right people, the right message, the right books, courses and opportunities are going to come, effortlessly and that if we truly believe that God gives us the power to create the wealth and we’re operating from a place of LOVE, there is not stopping us!

In short, motivation from DESPERATION is empty, ineffective and short lived… motivation from Inspiration is more powerful, highly effective and lasts an entire lifetime!

Have You Forgotten To Dream? It’s Time To Dream Again!

Posted By Emma on February 23, 2010

I took this video yesterday, the day after we attended Joel Bauer’s Passion 2 Profit, it was with great joy that I am sharing a HUGE epiphany my husband had. He started dreaming again! Interestingly enough, everything he dreamed of as a child, have already come true and therefore, he stopped dreaming. After attending Joel Bauer’s event, he was “freed” and there was renewed passion in his life because now, he has a new dream!

I challenge you to DREAM like you have never dreamed before!

Writing A Book With Mari Smith - A Dream Come True!

Posted By Emma on February 15, 2010

I filmed this video only a few days ago when I attended Seth Godin’s LIVE Event at the beautiful St. Regis Hotel and Spa in Dana Point, CA. Needless to say, I found out about this event from Mari Smith’s Twitter tweets.

If you are using social media for your online marketing efforts, you probably have already heard of the name Mari Smith. Fast Company dubbed her as the “Pied Piper Of Social Media Marketing” and rightfully so! I have known of Mari for over a year now and in fact, she has been my social media role model. Back in October 2008 when I was getting my feet wet in social media, I followed Mari Smith. What’s really impressive about her was her transparency, warmth and the genuine desire to always give value! Not to mention her incredibly contagious enthusiasm and energy! I remember how much I wanted to be like her “when I grow up”!

Fast forward 14 months later, I finally met Mari Smith in person! I remember driving to St. Regis Hotel that night knowing that I will be meeting her for the first time. I was also excited to know that I will also be seeing one of my social media “heroines” Coach Deb Micek. Looking back when I made the decision to attend Seth Godin’s event, I wondered whether to get the VIP Ticket for $199 or the standard for $49. I realized that to have the opportunity to meet Seth Godin, Mari Smith and Coach Deb would be sooo worth the $199 and so I gladly paid it!

The event was a huge success! When I got there, I was told that 800 people registered! Immediately I knew that buying the VIP Lounge ticket was a great decision! As soon as I walked in the lounge, there they were, all smiles and oh so welcoming, Mari Smith and Coach Deb! Having the “guru” status both of them have, it’s so refreshing to note that they are so real… so accessible and so warm!

Mari and I have been tweeting with each other and recently ventured on co-authoring a book with 18 other writers from all over the world, entitled ‘RELATIONSHIP AGE”. Truly in the noisy world on Internet Marketing, those who know how to build and foster relationships are the ones who will remain strong. There is a huge shift happening right now… Customers are becoming more savvy, more choosy and more in tune with who’s telling the truth. People who constantly give value are the ones who will be noticed more.

When the opportunity to co-author a book with Mari Smith was offered to me, it was a no-brainer, I knew this is truly where I can give more value along with other amazing entrepreneurs who share the same vision and future for Relationship Marketing.

My chapter will be about “Relationship Video Marketing” - Discover How To Attract, Nurture and Retain Your Perfect Clients Through Relationship Video Marketing!

I am so excited to share with you the beginning stages of our book… Yes, it will be sold on Amazon.com. It’s a dream come true… whether it becomes a New York Times bestseller, in my heart, it already is!

Take Time To Celebrate Moments Now… Not If… Not When…

Posted By Emma on February 1, 2010

My family spent the weekend at the Westin LAX. The celebration was two fold - to celebrate Gary and Garrett’s birthdays and to plan a truly economical weekend getaway. Having been away for 9 days to attend the Internet Marketers Caribbean Cruise, I have missed my family so much! So, this weekend, I did my research and realized that we can actually create a weekend getaway for under $400! Granted, we used our Starwood points for the hotel but we choose a hotel that has all the amenities of a 5 star hotel but only required points for a 3 star hotel! This weekend could have easily cost at least $1,000 but we took the time to find out what resources we already have and put that to great use:

    1) Used Starwood Reward Points for 3 days at the hotel.
    2) Took advantage of SPG guests getting free Continental Breakfast
    3) Took Garrett to night swimming and hot tubbing
    4) Used our existing annual passes for Universal Studios
    5) Had a great birthday dinner at Pancho’s in Manhattan Beach ( where Gary and I had our first date 15 years ago!)
    6) Enjoyed afternoon tea with Garrett as we watched planes land at LAX from our room window.
    7) Pizza delivery dinner from Valentino’s Pizza
    8) Strolled around King Harbor in Redondo Beach and had an amazing seafood lunch
    9) Took Garrett to the exclusive VIP Executive Lounge on the 12th floor
    10) Hung out with Garrett at the lobby/lounge area and talked about our dreams.

Garrett is only 8 years old but honestly, I believe he has the mind and maturity of a 20 year old! He was sooo happy about this weekend and he couldn’t stop thanking us for it! That to me is simply PRICELESS!

As you go about your day, please remember “Who are you doing this all for?” We get so caught up with making a living that we forget about what happens in the process, which is LIFE! Life goes on whether you choose to enjoy it or not…

If I may make a suggestion… take time NOW to celebrate LIFE… don’t wait for when things are perfect… Sometimes, it’s so amazing to simply be IN THE MOMENT!

My Mentor Joel Bauer always reminds me to “Celebrate every moment…. ” He’s a living example of one who celebrates life’s simple joys…

So, I ask you… what have you been wanting to do to celebrate YOU and/or your family for sometime now? How can you commit to making sure that you decide on doing that NOW and not WHEN… nor IF… ?

Thoughts On Putting Your Customers First…

Posted By Emma on January 25, 2010

Wow, I have missed you! I just came back from Mike Filsaime’s Internet Marketers Caribbean Cruise and I have not created any post here for over 2 weeks! It’s so unlike me!!!

I just wanted to share with you this video about my experience this morning when I received a personal phone call from Dave Walent of http://www.Sweetwater.com. I ordered a USB mic from their website at 2:00 a.m. today and I was NOT expecting a phone call from them at all! However, when Dave introduced himself and asked how he can help me, I started asking him questions about products that are 3x the price of what I have ordered.

Now, Dave could have easily sold me on an “upsell” and told me that those products are the best things to have but instead, he honestly told me that for my current purposes what I have purchased would suffice.

That was a true welcome change! How many times do we really think of our customers best interest first? I understand that most of the time we do… but if we honestly ask ourselves what we would have done in situations when a client is ready and eager to buy, would you have grabbed the opportunity?

I thank Dave Walent for inspiring this video blog post today. His knowledge and enthusiasm in educating me reflects his passion for what he does. I look forward to meeting and working with many more “Daves” in the future.

I will post videos and photos from our Internet Marketers Caribbean Cruise as soon as I come up for air ;)

Have a truly beautiful and inspired day!

Don’t Lose Hope In Your Purpose

Posted By Emma on January 6, 2010

As I get ready for my much awaited Internet Marketers Caribbean Cruise, in the midst of the excitement and great anticipation, I thought about the sadness and the sacrifices that goes along with it. It continues to make me realize that I do what I do because I believe in the purpose I was called to do and I need to move forward in pursuit of that purpose.

I ask you to do the same… that when the going seems rough and tough and doors are closing and you just don’t know what else to do that you will refrain from complaining and stop focusing on the challenge. Instead, realize how you can best get past the challenge or how to turn that challenge around to something that will help you get closer to your goal.

I will be reporting from the cruise… I hope to be able to interview people who will share their success secrets from the heart… till next time.. never ever lose hope!!!

When People Don’t Understand What You Do For A Living

Posted By Emma on January 1, 2010

I had the most amazing 10-day Christmas family vacation in Louisville, Kentucky and I tell you, I struggled for the first two days not having any internet access!  Thank goodness, Granny’s neighbor generously gave us access to her wi-fi so I was able to feel a sense of relief.

However, the challenge didn’t stop there…  I realized that now I am really on vacation - which means lots of family get togethers, sight-seeing, dining out and lots of relaxing couch time with my husband and son.  What I didn’t anticipate was their reaction everytime I picked up my laptop and started working.

In my mind, I was just doing what comes normal to me which was to stay connected to my online friends, associates and clients.  I didn’t realize that the people around me just didn’t understand my need to always stay plugged in and connected.  At a certain point, it was even perceived as “rude” to sit there while everyone was watching a movie and I was tapping the keys on my laptop.

I believe it boiled down to this:  People don’t understand what we do as online, internet, social media, attraction or relational marketers. When we talk Facebook or Twitter, they think it’s mindless chatter - that is after they recover from that glazed look on their faces. God forbid they see us video taping or taking photos of every detail that happens around us and we’re on our smart phones sharing it with the world, people around us really think we’ve lost it!

So, what do we do when people we care so much about don’t understand what we do?

I don’t know… all I know is what has worked for me.  I tried to associate or equate my situation into a scenario my family would understand.  In my example, the question I asked my husband is this:  “Would you buy from a stranger or from a person you know, like and trust?”  Of course his answer was the latter.  So I explained to him that when I connect to real people online, it allows them to know me, like me and trust me and that my way of connecting is utilizing the vehicles of social media - blogging, Facebook, Twitter and You Tube - in order for me to accomplish this.  The second follow up question I ask him is this:  What would you do if you didn’t get paid for it?  Something you’ll do because you are absolutely passionate about it?  He said “Designing airplanes…”  I said: “Well, I will encourage and empower people”.  I go on to explain that through relational marketing, I am able to do that and reach so many more people than I could do one of one.  That made him understand what I do what I do.

What about you? What is it that you do that you find hard to explain to friends and family.  If you’re in network marketing, it makes it doubly hard because as soon as you tell people you’re in network marketing, they already have an assumption of what you do so they put up a wall in front of them that you don’t get a chance to even explain exactly it is that you do.

I believe this makes for a great conversation so I invite you all to chime in on what has worked best for you.  Share with us What Do You Say Or Do, When People Don’t Understand What You Do?

    Please comment…. Many thanks!!!

Happy New Year… Know When To Give Up…

Posted By Emma on January 1, 2010

Happy New Year 2010! Back from a 10-day Christmas Holiday in Louisville, KY… sharing my “New Year 2010″ Message… On the plane home, I realized that contrary to Barry Manilow, it’s NOT just another New Year’s Eve…

This New Year 2010 is a year that is full of HOPE! Most of you who are probably reading this have been spinning your wheels for the past year or two figuring out which opportunity and strategy will work best for you. And while you’re not really finding the results you want, you’re still very much in the game.

My hope and prayer for you is that this year, you will gain the wisdom and discernment not just to “never give up” but to KNOW WHEN TO GIVE UP. This year I had to painfully sever ties with people who are not conjucive and in alignment with my purpose. I have redirected and evolved many times becuase as I forge ahead, no matter how uncertain the direction may have seemed at first, it started becoming clearer and the more I identify the corelation between my passion and my purpose, my strategies became clearer and yes, I have had to do many “evolutions”.

So, my question to you is, are you stuck beating a “dead horse”? I will share with you on Part 2 - “How To Know When To Give Up”.

Here’s to a New Year 2010 that’s a Year of Completion if not a Year of Clarity… Would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who made my 2009 MEANINGFUL!

Cheering You On To Your Success!

Emma’s Happy New Year 2010 Message

Posted By Admin on December 27, 2009

Still here in Louisville, KY for the holidays! I had a most wonderful past 4 days of just spending time with the Tiebens Family. It’s such a joy to see a family that is so big yet so close! This is my 15th Christmas in Louisville, KY and I absolutely look forward to Christmases here.

I believe that the Year 2010 will be a Year of Completion for most of us - for most of you who have been following my Blog, my posts and videos. I believe that if we all stay the course and continue to realize that you are called to a purpose greater than you think possible, you will be sent people and opportunities that will blow you away! This is what happened to me this year…

I will do a recap of my year that was to just see how far I’ve come even if I am not where I want to be, I most certainly thank God that I am not where I used to be! I have learned sooo much, met some incredibly amazing mentors and I am closer to my dreams now, more than ever!

How about you? I encourage you to do the same… ask yourselves what you’ve accomplished this year and that will propel you to move farther this year!

Happy New Year 2010 from my family to yours!!!

    IT’S ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS!!!

Posted By Admin on February 20, 2009

Welcome to my Blog! After 3 weeks of finagling with Go Daddy and Wordpress, consulting with Jerry Chen and Javier Rivero-Diaz, tweeting with Yaro Starak, and tons tons of hours of trial and error, I AM PROUD TO FINALLY LAUNCH MY BLOG!!! And the best part? I created this blog and didn’t have to pay to outsource it!

Why did I choose to be known as “The Relational Marketer“? As far as I can remember, ever since I was about 8 years old, I have always been genuinely interested in people. I have always done my best to connect with them and didn’t really understand why. People have branded me as a people pleaser, “brown noser” and a naive person who seems to find the best in people everywhere. I was even told during a job interview for Philippine Airlines that “they can’t hire me because I smile too much”. Can you imagine an airline who can’t hire someone because she smiled too much?

Another thing that didn’t use to make sense for me before was that I seem to always get elevated to a leadership role or have leaders -everywhere I go - to take notice of me without me really putting much effort into it. Looking back, I realized one thing: the connections I have made in my life are all part of a Divine Appointment and I have been given this gift of connecting with people and a heart that finds the good in everyone so that I can fulfill what I believe to be my life’s purpose which is this:

To live a life of purpose and help others find theirs…
For my life to always reflect God’s joy and love
To help revive hope to the hopeless
To become unbelievably blessed so I can become a blessing
    !

One of my most favorite quotes is by one of our most beloved President, Ronald Reagan - this is his epitaph on his tombstone at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, CA.

I know in my heart that man is good, that what is right will always eventually triumph and that there is purpose and worth to each and every life.”

It is my greatest desire to be able to give value to those who take the time to get to know me and trust me. I know I will not be able to connect with everyone on a physical level but through this Blog and my other social media sites - I hope to interact with you, get to know you and be able to build meaningful relationships just the same.

I also realize that some people may not feel comfortable that I do consider God and my Savior Jesus Christ as my Senior Partner in my business. If you only knew how my life was before God knocked on the door of my heart, you will understand why I am passionate about sharing the joy and peace that can only come from Him!

I believe that everyone has a story and mine is a story of courage, determination, implementation backed by faith, hope and love. It is through relationships that I am able to fulfill my God-given purpose. It is through relatioships that we get to know people beyond the superficial level and it is in relationships that trust, success and collaborations stem forth.

Truly, I am proud to be The Relational Marketer, desiring success for others more than I want for myself and when everything is all said and you’re on your death bed, you are not going to be thinking about how much money you didn’t acquire - you will want to be surrounded by those whose lives are now better because of yours! Yes, IT’S ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS!

Sometimes, We Just Need To Step Back…

Posted By Emma on August 25, 2009

I have missed writing on my Blog for almost 2 months! This summer has truly been rather challenging. I am not complaining… I love being a Mom in the summer! Garrett and I get to do all kinds of fun things and truly my family comes first before business. It may not seem that way at times but if you ask my husband Gary and son Garrett, they will give you a resounding “yes”!

This summer, I had to step back and re-analyze the direction I am heading. I spent the last year learning, implementing, connecting and partnering and now it’s time to actually create an actual product that will help many people.

Yes, I do have an eBook in the process which I started writing back in April and it’s almost finished. However, after assessing the needs of the people who are looking up to me for guidance, one thing is certain… most people need help with creating an online presence and some of them don’t really know where to begin. Having an online presence is the easy part but a lot of work and thinking would have to be invested into what it is that you would like to put online that will be associated with you. In essence, whatever you put online becomes your brand… What will that brand be? What message will you be sharing with the world?

Amazingly, when I decided to step back from focusing on pursuing the next level for my business, I was able to spend a ton of time with my family and I was still able to do the following:

    1) Cleaned up my messes - lots of them!
    2) Created a very clear Vision Board w/ my good friend Amy Schuber
    3) Found a Quantum Leap Coach, Tracy Repchuk c/o www.YourMillionDollarDesign.com  and committed to attending Mike Filsaime’s Annual Internet Marketers’ Caribbean Cruise in January 2010 c/o www.InternetMarketersVacations.com
    4) Created my video coaching curriculum c/o Russell Brunson’s MicroContinuity Program.
    5) Masterminded with a few associates for future Joint Venture Projects
    6) Organized our financial documents - yes, even our taxes!
    7) Edited videos for clients
    8) Lost 7 lbs. in 2 weeks - thanks to Beachbody’s Turbo Jam!
    9) Started a healthier lifestyle choice with My Vega.
    10) And many more positive life-altering activities!

So, ask yourself, what do you need to step back from? Why do you need to do that and what do you need to accomplish while you’re making a conscious decision to step back from it?

Sometimes, to step back actually allows you to get closer to that very thing you’ve been pushing forward. That’s when “effortless” success really happens. So, if you need to step back and re-analyze things… that’s perfectly fine… just make sure that you don’t leave for too long… just like muscles, your desire to move forward towards a vision needs to be exercised…

Have a wonderful time… enjoy your break and drop me a line or two to let me know how this idea has helped you!

What Are You Willing To Sacrifice?

Posted By Emma on August 28, 2009

My husband Gary was away on business for 3 weeks and this morning, he was so excited to come home when during his wait at the Nashville, TN airport, he was so fortunate to have witnessed a loving tribute to our honorable Men and Women of the US Army.  I would like to share this very short but poignant video my husband Gary took at 8:00am today.  How often do we get an opportunity - to really show our gratitude to our incredible Men and Women fighting for our Freedom leaving their own families, risking their lives?

As we go about our day to day, worrying about  how you can get promoted in your new job or what you need to do to take your business to the next level, let’s just pause and remind ourselves how SELFLESS these men and women are for sacrificing their time, families, opportunities and their lives for our freedom!  I posted this video to help remind us that WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE… they have sacrificed so much for others… what are you willing to sacrifice?  It’s challenging as it is to sacrifice some things to gain success for ourselves, what more sacrificing a lot…for others? It seems rather impossible doesn’t it?

Yes, my husband got a bit emotional from the patriotism because his own father served in the Army in World War 2. Not to mention that he also missed his family after being away for only 3 weeks! He could only imagine these soldiers being away for so much longer! Let’s remember to take the time to thank and pray for our soldiers!

Please FORWARD, SHARE OR EMBED this video to remind others of what we were just reminded of! Thank you so much!

Why Worry Is USELESS and UNNECESSARY…

Posted By Emma on August 31, 2009

Here in beautiful Westin Mission Hills Villas in Rancho Mirage, CA for our family’s annual desert vacation.  My family understands that while we’re here, I need to divide my time between focused and inspired creativity as well as quality family time just relaxing poolside, couch time, watching movies in bed, dining out and some shopping.

Having been here for 2 days now, I really haven’t had the time to sit down for that “inspiration” to create my video curriculum to kick-in.  I just wanted to spend time with my family.  Although I know that’s the right thing to do, I still worry about my commitment to myself and to the people waiting for my video coaching to be completed.  So naturally, I started to worry that I won’t have a finished product by week’s end…

Well, at 5:30 a.m. today,  in my Inbox is this Purpose Driven Daily Devotional by Rick Warren… I thought I’d share it with you as it has truly enlightened me and it is my hope and prayer that it does the same for you!

Worry is something you learn to do.

There is no such thing as a “born worrier.” It is a learned response to life. You learned to worry from two sources:

    1. You learned to worry from experience. After years of mistakes, failures, and unfulfilled expectations, you’ve discovered that things don’t always turn out right. Out of these experiences you formed the habit of worrying.

    2. You learned to worry from examples. There are many models around you. Studies show that children usually pick up their parent’s worries. Anxious parents raise anxious kids.

Since worry is a learned response to life, it can be unlearned!

The starting point for overcoming worry is to realize it is useless. It does you no good to worry. It is “stewing without doing.” Worry has never changed anything. Worry cannot change the past. Worry cannot control the future. Worry only makes you miserable today.

Worry has never solved a problem, never paid a bill, and never cured an illness. It only paralyzes you so you can’t work on the solution. Worry is like racing a car when its engine is in neutral; it doesn’t get you anywhere, it just uses up gas.

The Bible teaches, “An anxious heart weighs a man down” (Proverbs 12:25 NIV).

On top of that, worry exaggerates the problem. It plays on your imagination. Have you ever noticed that when you worry about a problem it gets bigger? Every time you repeat if over and over in your mind you tend to add details, amplifying it so you feel worse.

What’s the solution? Instead of worrying, talk to God about what’s worrying you. He is someone who can do something about it.

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life” (Philippians 4:6–7 MSG).

THANK YOU For Making My Birthday This Year Extra Special!

For the past 3 days, I’ve been receiving amazing and loving birthday well wishings from friends via email, Facebook and Twitter and I tell you, I have never experienced such incredible outpouring of LOVE!  This by far is one of the most amazing birthday’s I have ever had!

My husband Gary, son Garrett and Mom Elena are all with me vacationing here in beautiful Westin Mission Hills Villas in Rancho Mirage. This morning they woke up early with me, sang “Happy Birthday” to me and they gave me a most amazing and loving card… on the back of the card, was a drawing of the gift my husband gave me today: A NEW MACBOOK PRO!  I couldn’t believe what I saw… I have been saving up for a MacBook Pro and now hubby gave it to me as a surprise present!  I am still in shock…

However, what makes today even more special which continues to move me to tears even as I write this blog post is the kindness of people whom I’ve been so blessed to have connected with through social media - Facebook, Twitter and You Tube!   You know who you are… you who took the time to remember my special day and send me your loving well-wishing!

When people ask me, “How is it possible to build relationships online? It seems like a rather cold place to connect with people…”  I guess now I can really say:  “If you ever doubt the relationships you are able to build online, you better come check out my Facebook Wall and see for yourself because you will see people there who took the time to send me birthday well wishings and whose presence in my life - online and offline - continue to inspire me!” With that said, it is my hope that I am able to do the same to each and everyone of you!”

I created this video to say thank you to all of you who just blew me away with your thoughtfulness and for taking the time to make me know about it!  I am literally on Cloud 9 and EVERY GREETING THAT CONTINUES TO COME IN JUST MAKES MY HEART SMILE!  My intention is to send the link to this post to most of your “Inbox” to show you my GRATITUDE for having you in my life!  I will do my best to get to all of you!

If you found your way here through other avenues, I want to THANK YOU just the same for taking the time to read this…

What’s my birthday wish?  As I said on this video, my birthday wish is for God to continue to grant me the ability to utilize the gifts He gave me to continue to inspire, encourage and empower people, especially those in the business arena who are discouraged and lost.

More importantly, my birthday wish for YOU is that you continue to live a life on purpose and help others find theirs and in the process you too will become unbelievably blessed so you can become a blessing to others!

From my heart to yours:  “I’m Utterly Grateful For You!!!  Thank you for making my birthday extra special!

“Cash In A Flash” By Robert Allen and Mark Victor Hansen

Posted By Emma on September 12, 2009

It’s 11:30 pm and I am wide-awake! I am not sure if it’s because of hte excitement I had last night when I met Best Selling Authors Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen in person at the OC Tweet Up, or if it’s because I am excited about going to First Steps To Success With Dani Johnson this weekend!

My friend Amy Schuber, Founder and Coach for Be Inspired By You, told me today to do a “Brain Dump”, to relax and clear my mind so I can easily absorb everything that Dani will teach over the weekend… Well as you can see, I didn’t listen to her and decided to write on my Blog!

I filmed this video last night right after I got home… my son and hubby were already asleep upstairs and I didn’t want to make any noise so I did it in our kitchen…

Today, my heart overflowed with GRATITUDE from the encouraging words of Coach Deborah Micek, Carol Lee, Amy Schuber, Jane Saunders, Carolyn Himes and of course, Robert Allen himself who sent me a short but very kind message in my Facebook Inbox!

Most of my friends know that I have been a fan of “Multiple Streams of Income By Robert Allen”. In fact, when Gary and I got engaged in 1997 in Palm Desert, my poolside reading that weekend were “Nothing Down” and “Multiple Streams of Income”!

Now, there is Cash In a Flash… Fast Money in Slow Times! I am so excited about this new book that I bought 2 cases (24 books) last night at the OC Tweet Up!

If you want to have another shot in creating an “enlightened, immediate and lasting wealth”, you can go to www.CashInAFlashTheBook.com , purchase one or more books, leave your information and purchase receipt number and you will have access to amazing bonuses to jumpstart you while waiting for your book to arrive!

Do You Have The Commitment Of A Black Belt Leader?

Posted By Emma on September 20, 2009

This Friday, I was so honored to see our 7-year old Garrett get his first belt promotion in Tae Kwon Do… from White Belt to Yellow Belt… The joy on his face from such honor was priceless!

What makes me really happy and proud is the fact that at his young age of 7, he already has goals of becoming a Blackbelt Leader. Master Kim, his Sensei has specifically told us that it takes a good 3 years for someone to become a Blackbelt. It goes without saying that with that length of time to achieve something, it will definitely take a ton of COMMITMENT…

This made me think of YOU… my entrepreneurial friends who have been discouraged and disappointed from not seeing results in your businesses. Trust me, I’ve been there… I know exactly how it feels to be committed and do everything you’re told to do and still not results.

What I learned from my personal experience that success doesn’t happen swiftly for some because there is a lot of grooming and personal development that has to take place still and in the process you are getting strengthened.

So, from what Master Kim constantly teaches his students, I would like to share with you the 4 Goals of a Black Belt Leader:

    1) Set high goals
    2) Make a commitment to achieve those goals.
    3) Work hard
    4) Never give up

Looking at what stage you’re at in your business right now, where do you think you need a little boost? 1, 2, 3, 4 or a combination of a few of them?

For the longest time, I was running on pure passion and intention to never give up and guess what, it worked!

If you haven’t set high goals, do it NOW! Don’t set mediocre goals, set HIGH goals! One of my company’s great leaders said “Dream a big dream! The worst thing that can happen is that the small dream comes true!”

So, can you answer this question now? Do you have the commitment of a Black Belt leader? If you answered yes, then I believe success is inevitable for you!

Big News!!! But I Need Your Help…

    www.TheABCsOfNetworkMarketing.com

I just got off a call with some truly “heavy hitters”. Were talking owners of companies here, many millions of earnings, it was a RUSH!

    The topic of the call?

    YOU!

Ok, here is what I mean, If you have a network marketing business already, or you are looking into getting involved in one, You know as well as I do that the “glory days” of training are behind us, gone are the times where you got to feel GOOD about what you were doing and how you were doing it.

There are exceptions, sure, I mean, one writer can do his or her best to light the way, but in the past, there were tight teams who knew what they were talking about and made it fun, and lit the way to big earnings for many of us.

    Remember those days?…

The problem was that many of those teams went corporate, hired leagues of people and the magic was just lost. never to return (Or so I thought).

So there I was on this call, Multi million dollar lead guy says to #1 phone trainer, “Hey, why dont we just do a call for people, make it free and just show them step by step how to triple their earnings and have a little fun while they are at it?”

Then #1 Search Guy says to Social Media Queen “We should join in too so, along with money, people can learn how to become recognized as experts so they can command respect as WELL as even MORE income!

To top it all off Top Trainer Lady convinces “Rocket Scientist” System Builder Guy that we should do it all for not one nickel, just do it for the love of the game.

And in that moment, something special was born.

CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT…

The last I heard the total number was 6 trainers for sure and another 2 were checking their schedules.

This is going to be big, one of those nights where we point back and know that this is the call that started it all, so many people, so much talent and experience all with one aim and goal.

Your Finally “Making It” and reaching your goals.

Best to go now and get registered though, because the best parties are all exclusive and intimate, and so will this one be as well, we were only able to get 1000 lines on such short notice so there will surely be people left out.

Do You Have A 20/20 Vision Board?

Posted By Emma on September 25, 2009

When you hear 20/20 vision, doesn’t that denote a perfect vision where you can see clearly with impeccable accuracy everything that is upclose and everything that is afar.  When you’re nearsighted, you can only see things that are upclose and if you’re  far sighted, well… you get the point.  Personally, I am near sighted so if I have to drive to go somewhere, I have to wear glasses.

Tonight, I attended our 7-yr old son’s Back To School Night and I absolutely love his teacher Mrs. Specht!  She was giving us a glimpse of how the year is going to be and what her expectations for the class in general and what we can expect from her.  It was picture perfect!  It was as if we can really see how much more mature and wiser our children will be at the end of the year!

As I sat there, I realized that what she just created was a “vision” for what the year is going to be and now, that will serve as a guide to make sure we’re right on target and that everything that was laid out will be accomplished.

I couldn’t help think of the Vision Board I created recently with my good friend Amy Schuber.  Thanks to ever so fabulous Bonnie Bruederer of http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=1031116 - we had the tools to create a highly empowering Vision Board!  It has been barely a month since we created that board and by creating that, we have been more specific about our intentions and letting our Divine source know that this is what we will go after this year and we ask for blessings upon that desire.

There were 3 things that already came to fruition from that Vision Board and I was beyond amazed!  One of them was a MacBook Pro that my husband gave me as a birthday gift!   As the visions become a reality, the more empowered I became to really focus on the other visions, prioritize them and there becomes a deep knowing clarity comes after commitment and I know the rest of the vision on that board will manifest very soon!  I believe that with all my heart because I have created a 20/20 Vision Board! I clearly see where I am now and I was specific on what I see in the future.

How about you?  Have you created your 20/20 Vision Board?  If not, what are you waiting for? This is where you don’t need an eye doctor to see a clear vision… you just need to go back to your dreams and remind yourself that you knew how to dream once.  As a child, you knew you wanted to have a house, travel, help causes, etc…

As we grew older, we realized that our dreams come with responsibility and commitment.  As we get older, we also tend to become more relaxed, complacent and we start accept things as they are and not how our Designer had intended for us to be which is to live a life of abundance!

Your Vision Board will allow you to dream again!  And as I’ve learned from Dani Johnson, it’s time to stop shrinking your dreams to fit the size of your income circle, rather see what’s possible and do whatever it takes to increase income circle to accommodate those dreams again!

    My Philippines…Pliant As A Bamboo!

Posted By Emma on September 29, 2009

If you have been checking Twitter Trending Topics in the past 3 days, you would have noticed 2 keywords that have been there since. It’s “Ondoy” and Philippines. What is Ondoy? It’s a very strong and vicious typhoon that swept through the Philippines leaving over 500,000 people homeless and at least 7 cities submerged in water. In 6 hours, a month’s worth of rain poured in, making it difficult for the water to be contained.

On Friday, September 26, 2009 at around 8:00pm, my cousin called my Mom and asked if we heard what was going on. At that point, we knew that the water lever in Marikina River was going up fast! We didn’t think any of it since my family has lived near that river for 46 years and we know that it has never ever reached the 2nd story of our home so we know that my sister and nephews would be safe.

In a matter of 2 hours, my sister sent me a text message saying the water level was rising rather fast and that they will be heading upstairs until the water level goes down. Well, this time the water level didn’t go down… it kept on rising and rising… I got on Twitter to see what’s going on because at that point, the electricity was gone and the phone batteries were dead.  I started feeling fearful…got down on my hands and knees praying for protection over the Philippines and for God’s understanding that surpasses all!

In the wee hours of the morning on Sept. 27, photos started trickling in… I couldn’t sleep… wondering what’s happening to my family, my city, my country…  I was constantly monitoring Twitter and Facebook for updates.

The next day, the full extent of the devastation was featured by Yahoo News… seeing those photos just made my heart ache!  Thank goodness, I have my sister Elsa who was able to keep us up to date through Facebook.  When I saw the devastation through the photos, I knew that this disaster WAS NOTHING THAT OUR COUNTRY HAS EVER SEEN!  The impact was worst that Hurricane Katrina and the Thailand Tsunami combined!

Typhoon Ondoy or Ketsana - wiped out the Philppines and took with her,  many lives… someone’s brother, father, mother, sister, friend, son, daughter. The pain must be simply unbearable!  My spirit is still grieved and it has been 4 days…

However, one thing is for sure - JUST LIKE THE BAMBOO TREE, THE FILIPINOS ARE AS PLIANT AS THAT TREE!  I never heard anyone complain - when crisis such as this happens, we become even more united and there is compassion and faith among our people as a whole.

I prayed to God to direct me to a way to help out using the resources, talents and influences He has given me so I came up with this video to create awareness and help raise funds for Marikina City.  I am trying to reach the Mayor of Marikina to talk to her about possibilities.

One of the first people I contacted was Dani Johnson - she was on her way back from  Bora Bora when I sent her a private message on Facebook.  In a few hours, she had a response to me to contact her trusted Administrator Cindy McFaden from www.KingsRansomFoundation.org.  I am also grateful to Tracy Repchuk, Eric Su, Jerry Chen and Karol Kyno who acted immediately and re-tweeted my posts and gave me some marketing suggestions for my campaign. Now the wheels are in motion and God is in control….

In His own time, He will make all things new and beautiful again….

I Am Not Just CHOOSING To Rise… I AM CALLED TO RISE!

Posted By Emma on October 6, 2009

It has been a most amazingly mind-blowing weekend and as I continue to reminisce about it, there is a certain enthusiasm that just billows up from within!

Dr. Charlie and Ellie Drake and the Braveheart Team did it again and this time, they absolutely OVERDELIVERED! I have attended many, many events in the past 10 years of being an entrepreneur but nothing has even come close to the immeasurable value they gave to us this weekend!

I am so glad that I took countless photos, videos and notes from this weekend. Not to mention met so many incredible women and heard their heartfelt stories that will continue to inspire me for many, many years!

The Braveheart Women Awards was over the top! My favorite part was when Carol Channing sang "Hello Braveheart" to the tune of "Hello Dolly"... as I listened to her sing that, I saw clearly Ellie's vision to have 1,000,000 Braveheart Members and having that historic party in a safe area on the Gaza Strip inviting both Palestinian and Israeli women, in the not so distant future!

There were so many amazing golden nuggets that I received this weekend but one that stands out was from Rolondo Watts: "Your passion will not wait and your gifts will persist"....

Truly, I believe that God - our Almighty Creator has designed us for one thing to reflect His image and likeness and that is SUCCESS! Success is our destiny and that's why we have passions that no matter how much we quiet down, they continue to persist and it is our responsibility to pump up that volume until it becomes loud and clear!

I was most touched when Ellie consciously and intentionally took the time to honor and edify her team, her husband her two adorable boys, her Mom, her staff, her team, the event's fabulous host, Paul Ryan and when she actually thanked all of us who were there... She made sure that she took the time to ask us to renew our commitment to the Braveheart Vision and what really touched me was when she went down the stage and HUGGED EVERYONE around her one by one...

I will never forget the tears in her eyes and how I felt such incredible LOVE when it was my turn to be hugged by her! I am welling up with tears of appreciation even as I type this, remembering how I felt her genuine love for all of the women in that room and for her immense passion to see her vision through!

Ellie Drake... you truly are one of a kind and yes, you have barely scratched the surface! Your greatness awaits and we will be here alongside you, co-laboring with you!

So yes, Ellie.... I am no longer just choosing to Rise… Now more than ever, I know in my heart I am CALLED TO RISE! Thank you for sharing your heart… I am grateful for you beyond words….

I will be posting photos and videos very, very soon!!! To all you amazing women in the community whom I have the utmost honor and pleasure to meet and hug, I think of you.... I send you my love and pray for the achievement of all of your dreams beyond your wildest imaginings!

Taking On Joel Bauer’s Passion 2 Profit 2-Week Challenge!

Posted By Emma on October 20, 2009

On Friday, October 16, I received a last minute and very late invitation from my good friend, Moriah Diamond to get an opportunity to be a recipient of one of 4 VIP tickets to Joel Bauer’s Passion 2 Profit. Without hesitating, I knew I have to do whatever it takes to be at that event! It was 11pm when I received the confirmation that I did get the ticket and the event was in Woodland Hills, CA - appx. 1 1/2 hours from Huntington Beach - and the event started at 7am! Boy, was I glad I didn’t dilly-dally… this weekend truly transformed my life! It created major “heartshifts” for me! Joel Bauer was truly a Master Marketer “par excellence” and a Marketer From The Heart!

I took on a 2 Week Challenge after the event - that in 2 weeks, I will have implemented his Profit Point System. I also committed to creating video reports to document my progress so here they are! Just as Joel said: DEFINE, DESIGN, DEVELOP AND DEPLOY! Here we go!

The Result Of My 14-Day Challenge… Joel Bauer’s Own Testimonial About Me!

Posted By Emma on November 13, 2009

My life had a complete transformation in the past 3 weeks, eversince I met Joel Bauer at Passion 2 Profit. Thanks to my friend Moriah Diamond who gave me 1 of the VIP tickets that she had for the event.

What did Joel and that event do for me? It reminded me of the deeper reason on why I do what I do… I am passionate about seeing entrepreneurs succeed! I feel a huge sense of responsibility to encourage them and equip them with the skills and the tools to succeed but I felt like I need to learn more before my message can be heard loud and clear!

Joel Bauer has made me realize the gift of “heartsuasion” - that when you come from a place of genuinely helping people, what you have inside is good enough!

That event opened a new and bigger chapter in my life - because of that, Joel Bauer took notice of me and invited me to participate in his LIVE product shoot at Palm Springs Studios together wtih Jorge Bueno, another Master Marketer. On top of that, Joel created this very encouraging testmionial about me! Such testimonials from Joel are rather rare!

So what’s next? I am finally creating my own product - something that I know will help entrepreneurs achieve success via an effective, profitable and powerful online presence! I will teach them to be easily understood and to build powerful relationships they didn’t think possible before!

The Challenge Begins… Where The Rubber Meets The Road!

Posted By Emma on November 16, 2009

Now that I have been so blessed to be Mentored by one of the BEST Marketers in the world - Joel Bauer -  and are finally being coached by him, I am now beginning to really feel a kind of mixed emotions - that is quite similar to that of birthing pains.  I am sure most man won’t be able to relate to that - or maybe there is a better term to describe that feeling for them.  However right now, I am experiencing a combination of excitement, ambivalence, fear, overwhelm, inadequacy, hope and many other feelings all rolled into one!  As I type this blog post, I have butterflies in my stomach and am not sure whether it’s because it’s a bit chilly in my office, or perhaps I drank one too many cups of coffee today.  I am just trying to be funny…

Truthfully, I know that this unexplainable ambivalence is due to the fact that I am staying accountable and this is now the real world…  PRODUCT CREATION which means stepping out in faith and really digging into your soul on what is that part of your heart and your wisdom you can impart to the world that will make someone’s life better.   The thought of knowing that I have accumulated much knowledge and it’s now time to share that - and get paid for it - is something that I needed to really fully understand.

Many of you who know me by now, realize that I LOVE helping… I will give all my knowledge for free if given the chance… I will mentor and coach for free, simply because that’s what I love to do!  However, having mentored by the best of the best in the world, I know that by doing so, I am doing a disservice to the world because I stop the flow of abundance!  Not to mention that I would be acting irresponsibly since I do have a family who sacrifices time away from me everytime I give my time away for free.  Not only that… I have financial responsibilities to my family and to the causes I have chosen to help and by not choosing to monetize my knowledge, they too get robbed of the benefits.

So, today I have taken the first step to creating my product… it’s going to be something that will definitely “Encourage, Enlighten and Empower Entrepreneurs”!  I know I will go through many trial and errors as I “birth” this product and at this very moment, I am making a conscious choice focus the next 3 months to create, market and finally launch it!  Stay tuned… the fun has just begun!!!

    Stay tuned

Inspired By Ann Sieg… What Will Your Legacy Be?

Posted By Emma on November 26, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving!  It’s 3:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day and I was awaken by an overwhelming sense of gratitude that I decided to write a Blogpost about it. Ironically, as I looked through my email,  I came across a video blog of one of my favorite and trusted industry leaders, Ann Sieg.

I’ve been very blessed to have met Ann Sieg and her awesome Executive Assistant Candace Hogan, when my good friend Jerry Chen scheduled their interview at our home.  What a real treat that was to spend an entire day with Ann, Candace and Jerry!  I can’t wait for you all to watch their interview - you will see a side of Ann Sieg you have never seen before!  Like Ann, I am a wife, mother and an entrepreneur whose passion is to empower entrepreneurs globally.  When I watched her video blog post earlier, I couldn’t help not share my thoughts as inspired by her message.

I thank Ann for her transparency and for her willingness in not only sharing her beliefs with the world but her passion in making sure that people are educated enough to enable them to exercise having choices!

Her heritage is so rich! Her great, great grandfather was imprisoned from exercising his beliefs which ultimately shaped what Ann has become today.  I admire her desire to honor the legacy of generations before her! After seeing her video, it has become clearer why her and her teachings have always resonated with my spirit!

Like Ann, my success is definitely not measured by money alone, however, I firmly believe that money enables us to do tons of good in the world! That’s the reason I do what I do to encourage, enlighten and empower entrepreneurs. Success for me boils down to this simple question which is the basis for why I founded “The Relational Marketer” - it’s the question: “Whose Life Is Now Better Because Of Yours”?

Everyday, I well up from an overwhelming gratitude to God who has been so good to me! Even if I don’t necessarily have EVERYTHING I have, the fact is I have more than enough! I have an amazingly loving and supportive family who encourages me to act upon opportunities to be, do and give more! I am grateful for the FREEDOM to have choices, to be in this country where opportunities abound! I am grateful for having access to amazing Mentors such as Joel Bauer, Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg, Dani Johnson,Tracy Repchuk which has now enabled me to have a platform to be able to help change many people’s lives in a global sense!

As a young girl in the Philippines, it was reading which has inspired me to realize that there is a bigger and abetter wolrd outside my little town… it ws reading that has allowed me to see the infinite possibilities of what I can become. I support our public library here in Huntington Beach and part of my vision is to be able to put a public library in many small towns in the Philippines so that many children will be given the same opportunity about reading as I have!

The legacy I want to leave behind is simple… to have people I care most about - and those who choose to be mentored by me - all allocated for financially with income producing assets - including intellectual properties and businesses - that will encompass generations upon generations.  More importantly, I want to leave a legacy of encouraging them to have a personal relationship with God and His beloved son Jesus - who has plucked me out from a teeny tiny unheard of small town in the Philippines and elevates me to a leadership position that enables me to positively impact thousands of lives!  A legacy of helping people believe that they are called for a Higher Purpose and their lives mean more than what their minds can comprehend - I want to leave a legacy full of HOPE and LOVE!

What about you? What legacy will you leave behind?  What actions are you taking right this moment to make sure that your life does count for something?

    What’s Your Excuse? Jake Doesn’t Have One…

Posted By Emma on November 29, 2009

Thank you, Don Sewell for sharing this inspirational ESPN video of an incredible young man, our beloved Jake Olson. Our family goes to the same church and school as The Olsons and while we we are not necessarily close family friends, we do know the family and we’ve seen these events unfold thru our mutual friends and our school Principal Art Blietz. Jake is THE MOST INSPIRATIONAL PERSON I have ever met!

This video tells the story so I don’t have to repeat it… I am sharing this because when I watched this video, after the tears and prayers, I realized that this young man didn’t allow fear or excuse get in the way of living his life. That by doing so, I know that he has chosen to live his God given purpose and to use his life to encourage and inspire people along the way…

How about you? What is your purpose? What gets you out of bed each morning with sheer excitement of what the day brings? When your purpose is clear, commitment happens and the only way that will stop you are FEAR AND EXCUSES.

Jake Olson didn’t let those get in the way! How about you… what’s your excuse? What are you afraid of? Maybe it’s time to realize that F.E.A.R. truly is False Evidence Appearing Real and like Excuses, it shouldn’t exist…

Watch this and forward this to your family and friends to inspire them too!

Investing In “YOU, Inc”… What’s On Your Christmas List?

Posted By Emma on December 7, 2009

I looked at the calendar this morning and almost panicked! It’s 18 days before Christmas and truthfully, my Christmas cards haven’t been sent and I have not done one ounce of shopping! This is not normal for me because I normally have my Christmas cards ordered by September as I have been hand assembling them for the past 10 years. However, with 400 cards to send this year, hand assembling is not a possibility anymore…

Yes, I have many, many things I would love to buy for myself and my family this Christmas. This is normally the time when we splurge on ourselves, we make a list of what we really, really love to have – the things we can’t “live without” and this is when we sit down to plan the vacations we’ll be taking the next year.

Interestingly enough when my husband ask me what I wanted for Christmas this year, I was able to honestly say “Thanks Honey, but I don’t need anything…” Seriously, this is the first time ever when I was able to say that…

Oh please, don’t get me wrong… inside this empowered entrepreneur is still a “girly-girl” who likes nice things like a couple of nice Gucci and Louis Vuitton purses, a cashmere blanket, a Shamina shawl, the latest Ugg boots and let’s not even go to the latest gadgets in technology… possibly a brand new touch screen computer with the biggest memory and the faster processor available. Oh and did I say hiring an interior designer to re-decorate and re-paint our home? How about an appointment with a personal shopper at Neiman Marcus and leave with at least 3 great suits or outfits? And what about my annual make-over appointment at the Chanel counter for the latest in colors for the next 2 seasons? And what about my favorite sales reps at David Yurman and Tiffany jewelry whom I haven’t seen in a long time? Oh and that Oyster Perpetual Datejust Rolex or that Chopard watch with the dancing diamonds? A Tumi suitcase set, perhaps?

It’s so interesting that only a year or so ago, I have spent money on frivolous things and really enjoyed every minute of it! But for the past year, I have made a conscious choice to do one thing: TO INVEST IN MYSELF… By investing in myself, I know that I can go back to the things I love acquiring and what’s more is that I will able to continue to give more and continue to make a difference in people’s lives! I am proud to say that at a time when we didn’t have enough money, giving was something we never cut back on… it was a priority in our lives! Even our accountant couldn’t really understand that… We understand the Law Of Reaping and Sowing… if you want to be able to give huge amounts of money later, you need to start giving small amounts NOW!

So, I didn’t get any of those things I have mentioned which normally would have been on this year’s list. You’re probably wondering what took their place on my Christmas list? Well, here they are:

    1) Joel Bauer’s Persuasion Power System: $2,997
    2) Tracy Repchuk’s Millionaire Mastermind - $4,000
    3) Coaching Cognition by Renegade Professional - $1,495
    4) Jorge Bueno’s Funding Your Passion Business Codex - $397
    5) New Macbook Pro +++ - $2,200
    6) Internet Marketers’ Carribean Cruise - $2,000
    7) Russell Brunson’s MicroContinuity - $ 600
    8) Raymond Aaron’s Monthly Mentor - $2,600
    TOTAL: $16,289

These expenses are just in the last few months… this doesn’t include the many trips and events I attended and the ongoing community memberships I have– Traffic Geyser, Braveheart Women, etc. Not to mention I already own practically all of Mike Dillard’s products and am an ongoing member of the Association of Better Networker.

So, what’s my point in all these? People come to me and ask me all the time - “Wow Emma, you’re so lucky… people and leaders are drawn to you… how do you do that?” Well, I guess the answer is simple: I CHOSE TO CONTINUE TO INVEST IN MYSELF because by doing so, I am investing in my business and it shows that I proactively take action. If you honestly believe that “You are the brand” (which I was so blessed to have learned from Mike Dillard early on), you will stop and think and make wise choices on how to spend your money. By investing in myself, I am investing in my long term success… the fancy stuff can wait because ultimately I will have them all! I just chose to delay instant gratification for long term gain!

Do you have to spend as much to get the same results? Absolutely not! We all are at different stages in our personal and business lives. Only you would know what your needs are.

The reality is that when you have limited resources, you need to be able to choose which ones will grow your brand and your business. If you noticed, I invested in Systems and Coaches… everyone needs a coach! A coach needs a coach… every successful person has a coach or a mentor.

If you don’t have one, find one quick! I happen to have a video sharing who my Mentors are and you’re all welcome to check all of them out! www.TheRelationalMarketer.com/Mentors

So now I ask you… what’s on your Christmas list?

Perhaps it’s time to re-think where you’ll spend your resources and invest in You, Inc. instead…

Cheering You On To Your Success!

“Twas The Night Before Christmas… For Network Marketers”

Posted By Emma on December 21, 2009

Just thought I’d share with you a Poem I wrote last year while on Christmas holiday  in Louisville, Kentucky….

    Twas The Night Before Christmas
    (for Network Marketers)

    by Emma Tiebens

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, except my computer’s mouse.
News of recession has prompted me to care ,
For people in the network marketing industry hurting everywhere.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
How to reach out to many kept dancing in my head.
As my family snored, I donned my thinking cap,
Wouldn’t even consider for a moment to take a winter’s nap.

When into my Inbox arose such a clatter,
Propped myself on the bed to see what was the matter.
Invitations to connect came in like a flash,
I honestly thought my computer would crash!

    I didn’t even notice the fresh-fallen snow
Was so busy sending lots of “hello”
To new and unexpected friends who appeared,
Out of nowhere, from people both new and endeared.

My God-given brain started processing quick,
So many strategies out there, which one should I pick?
Everyone claims theirs is the best.
I need to know what really works that stands above the rest!!

In the past I’ve toyed with the leads that you buy,
With hopes that they’d bring me my pie in the sky.
So daily I called at least one hundred and two,
Spoke with ten, but the rest I couldn’t get through.

“Now Dillard! Now, Belcher! Now, Reese and now Kern!
On, Ceballos! On, Fong! On Yaghi and Bell!
Worked together to change the course of us all
By sharing their “secrets” they helped us not to fall!

And then, in a twinkling, I’m no longer aloof
As how to be magnetic is far from fool proof
There are hurdles to overcome to turn things around
Good thing we have access to leaders who abound.

I mustered my strength and stepped out with one foot,
Web 2.0 and capture pages, new knowledge took root.
Though I got some responses, I was taken aback,
My page wasn’t converting, a skill I definitely lacked.

Someone did tell me that blogging would carry,
The weight of generating organic leads in a hurry!
Signed up for WordPress my first article I sowed,
Not really understanding how everything flowed.

Then the social media craze made me clench my teeth,
Wrote updates and comments as often as I breathe.
With My Space, Twitter, Facebook, I put down the telly ,
But source info and split testing were a tad hard to tally!

Through all these I realized how vital is oneself,
In giving without want, being of service and of help
Inspiring, encouraging on what lies ahead
Soon gave me the courage I had nothing to dread.

With mentors I was blessed with I went straight to work,
Focused on one or two strategies that brought the most perk.
Identifying true divine purpose helped overcome my woes
From having no following, my numbers arose!

I jumped on the wagon then gave the team a whistle,
And while things are uncertain, my confidence has settled.
Now more than ever on this very special night,
“Happy Christmas to all…let’s put up a good fight!”

Have You Forgotten To Dream? It’s Time To Dream Again!

Posted By Emma on February 23, 2010

This video was taken yesterda, the day after we attended Joel Bauer’s Passion 2 Profit, it was with great joy that I am sharing a HUGE epiphany my husband had. He started dreaming again! Interestingly enough, everything he dreamed of as a child, have already come true and therefore, he stopped dreaming. After attending Joel Bauer’s event, he was “freed” and there was renewed passion in his life because now, he has a new dream!

I challenge you to DREAM AGAIN!
